I think that they are about the same. I know that for me there is no difference. I also notice shortness of breath when taking them.

Hydrocodone vs Percocet

I was on Hydrocodone for about 6 years and went off 3 months ago CT.  I was taking 7 a day and had bad shortness of breath due to the meds.  I know some will disagree with me on the shortness of breath but when i went off the Hydros after week 3 it was ALL GONE  YEAH!!!!

My question is, my doc tried Talwin and Darvacet and they made me sick and raised my blood pressure.  He themn placed me on Percosets 5/325 and i am taking 2 to 3 a day for pain managment.  They are working well but I notice when i do not take them after a 18 to 24 hour period I start to get shortness of breath not as bas as while on the Hydros.  Is the 5/325 more of less powerful than the 10/325 Hydros?

Has anyone else had these side effects before?

Also, the Hydros was giving me Polycythemia too.

Thanks

percocets are stronger than hydros....Even the 5/325 percocets, are a bit stronger than the hydro 10/325...Not much, but enough!!!

Hopeless

percocet will also give you polycythemia because of the Tylenol effect on your liver ;  you need to be taking plain oxycodone, the narcotic portion of Percocet if that is truly a probem

In *my experience: percs or (oxycodone) compared with hydro is about the same mg per mg. I feel most people think oxycontin to be stronger because they can come in large amounts. Up to 80mg or even 160mg in one pill. however everyone is different.

Now this is the thing. The shortness of breath is terrible. Its like on the verge of ODing. Whenever your body is not functioning properly you've taken too much. I did this about a week ago with one 80mg oxy pill. I never taken the stuff before and was quite interested in the all mighty oxycontin. I've been using the same hydros as you, the 10/325 reguarly so wasn't too worried about it. After 3 hours I began to get the shortness of breath and hated it. I even got scared. I had to fight to keep my vision normal and sit up straight. I felt like I had been hit by a drug truck. So...if you can't take less but want that shortness of breath to be less you must have food in you, excersise a little or even drink something with sugar. Like a soda.

You will go through withdrawels solely based on the fact that you are only switching from one opiate to another. Your body doesn't know the names hydro and oxy, it only knows the drug it craves, some form of opiates. good luck.
5mg of methadone a day has helped me. But be very careful with that stuff.

I am taking Percocet NOT Oxycotin....Percocet is Oxycodone NOT Oxycotin

My other question is I have been taking two Percocets pd for 3 weeks now.  If I quit....will the WD be the same as if i was on the Hydros 7 pd 10/325 and went C/T  will I even go through W/D's
