Kinda weird

I know this sounds weird....but a guy i work with has been having to use the bathroom all the time....So much that i started to document it....As a joke at first.
Now i'm concerned.....He urinates every hour almost to the T.....In the 8 hours at work he goes 8-9 times.
I have been talking to him about this and he says its normal...and that he drinks coffee and soda all day (he dosent)...We work in real close quarters.

Is there a problem if a man urinates up to 16 times a day (24 hrs).

PS: This is still kinnda of a light harted joke type thing at work....but if there is something wrong i would like to help him.

I would think he would want to get that checked out.  Sounds like he may have a bladder issue.

Coolio, you're funny!  I pee that much too!  But I'm female and older.  I have no idea if the weak bladder works the same for men.

A guy in the office next to me pees a lot.  He just had major surgery & colen cancer and he's now in remission.

He noticed how much I pee b/c I have to walk right past his office.  He advised me to get my colon checked out b/c that's how his problems started.  I didn't get it, because the colen is not where you pee from, but didn't want to get into this discussion w/him.  He was just being nice, and he still pees a lot.

It's possible Coolio, that he has a problem, and he has had it diagnosed but that he just doesn't want to share about it so he just SAYS it's normal b/c he wants to drop it.  I don't know......

It can actually be an early sign of Prostate cancer. My dad had Prostate cancer. He probably should get looked at.

Cool...thanx for the help and no he deff has not been diagnosed with something and not saying. He is a great guy...but hes a little out of it....no self awareness...at all.

If he's not drinking enough fluid to warrent peeing that often, chances are he's not peeing that much when he goes in the bathroom, which could indicate a prostate problem. He should get it checked out. I read up on this stuff alot because my husband has alot of prostate cancer in his family.

Maybe he has a heart condition or a  high blood pressure issue... and is prescribed lasix, which is a diuretic and makes you pee alot.

Yeah maybe he could have a UTI, bladder or prostate problem

I didnt mention that he has a real bad smell...and its not BO...kinda sweet but horrid too.
I have never been able ti figure that out. He also is always out of breath and always seems like hes about to pass out.
He does not do drugs...I have known him for years and know everyone that he knows and i have been around him alot when drugs are around....He will not do them. Though i think he drinks beers every nite.
His eyes are always red no matter what...like there is some dryness problem.

I know its weird that im saying all of this but, he gets ragged on alot at work and im starting to think its a medical condition and maybe he can help himself.

Tell him to get it checked out! It is not normal to do this without also drinking mass qtys of liquids. Of course the other question is, are you sure he isn't in the bathroom for drugs?

Yeah....the area we have been working in is so confined (Government) that i knew for a fact what he is doing in the bathroom........I am the one with the badge so he cant go to far out of my site.

Alot of times if they're diabetic they go to the restroom at night not so much during the day. Just a thought since my whole family has diabetes including all the little kids in my family. That was there first sign was using the restroom too frequently at night.

That sweet smell sounds just like diabetes. And he would be going to the bathroom a lot more too. It also makes you extremely thirsty. Another sign is weight loss. Has he lost any weight recently?
This sure sounds like diabetes. He really needs to get checked out. This could turn serious real fast. I have a family full of diabetes. He would not want to go into diabetic shock.

i was having problems like that they thougt about diabetes... 6 months later i was on dialysis my kidneys stopped working... had streph throat as a child and it took the germ 25 to 30 yrs to ruin my kidneys.. he needs to see a dr

Yeah...he told me today that there is no way that he has it. He went home and reseached it and said " i dont put off a strong smell and i dont have .....something else".
Both symptoms he said he does not have....he does have to the point that people know him as the smelly guy that always looks like hes about to pass out.
He is very self...UNaware and i think that this is why he has gotten to such an extreme bad point with his health.......
No lie when most people see him for the 1 st time they say " man whats wrong with that guy "......He seems to almost pass out like an hour after eating and is in like a daze...and confused.
He used the bathroom 12 times during an 8 hour day.....two times...#2.

I told him he needs to get it checked and show us or we would have to put him on another job site. We are in a big time secure situation with major deadlines.

The fact that he acts like he's in a daze after eating tells me his blood sugar is out of whack! Who knows how bad it is? It could be sky high and he doesn't even know! He has all the symptoms of diabetes. He needs to get checked out now before he passes out and goes into diabetic shock.
It's a very simple thing to check. He just needs to take a blood fasting test. He can arrange that with his doctor. If that rules out, I'd get the prostate checked.
It sure sounds like diabetes, though. He's playing with fire.

He did the same thing today and i told him "get it checked by end of month or we will move you to unsecure location"

Thanks for the input....it really helped....i think if i hadnt gotten any responces i might not have pushed the issue with him.

I think he's a little pissed right now , but i bet in less then a month he will be thanking me.
