Some of you at MH may not know us ,but this is my story.Me and my wife had been HEROIN addicts for 13 years with no hope & no way out Our lives were HEROIN n the morning afternoon & night One niht my wife Km was on the pc and came across this site,i paid no attension to Kim. But she kept agging a me to kook i did  and was that stoned i just agreed to anything she said. Next day in the morning i went onthe pc and the mh page was still there,i looked and thought how can they help no one else could. Iread a few storys and thought giveit a try James or we would both end up dead.Well i spoke to Gizzy and he told me i could get a lot of support here.He left a msg for a great woman called lesa (LETAKOS ) Lesa had been through the same addiction and surrvived came through the other side Well next day she pm me asking me to try c/t that scared the liveing daylight out of me c/t i thought about it and Letakos was right it was the only way to go. We tried and failed more than once then i looked at my wife god what a mess i had got us into.We married very young Kim 16 i was 17 when i took those vows i was ment to obey them. so june this year with a lot of help from my sister Letakos i went through the worst 14 days of w/ds in my life our body cried for HEROIN it was agony but talkig to Letakos she sent us strenth and i put my hand in the air and grabed it she felt so close to us like she was in the same room anyway after 14 days of agony no sleep i shut my eyes and slept for what seemed like days. When i woke for thefirst time i never thought about HEROIN yes it felt great but did start to crave this nightare was not over yet But we could deal with the cravings 10 minutes and it was gone Tody me and Kim are 137 days clean life is somuch better we have put  on weight do things we would never have done in the days of HEROIN then last week my freind darren died of a HEROIN overdose leaving behind a wife  & yong son daz jnr thatcould have been me or Ki it broughtthe reality of HEROIN use right home to me so i thank the lord that we escaped the demon HEROIN with our lves i also thank Letakos & MH members for all there support for without it i would be dead or still in the hands of HEROIN if this story helps just one person then my life will have been worth somethig  thank you all for all the help we received and if you are 1 day clean or 1 month you are on the road to recovery James & Kim

i can say one thing and one thing only .if it was not for the freinds i mentioned and other mh members we would still be in the hands of the demon one word for the demon go back to were you belong you hold hands with te devil go back to hell,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,

Thank you for writing I know what your going through believe me I know I have to focus on my recovery morning,noon and night. or CHARLIE ( from 1st scene of Apocalypse Now) that's what i call my addiction  it's out there getting stronger and I have to be getting stronger mentally and spiritually to fight it off or not fight just loss interest. I remember the morning you came on here too! Yes it was morning for us! lol
I was struck by your story and so hoped you could find some support on here. Fortunately you found one of our most caring member, lesa!
You and Kim are amazing me, you truly are beating the beast, one of the most horrible of all. Your will power, your surviving will and your drive are sincerely above imagination and you 2 lovebirds make me so proud. You deserve every second of your clean time, you have been working so hard for it.

My Dear Brother James.. I also remember that night you came on. I even have a journal speaking of how grateful I'm to you two. grateful for the gift of empathy You Kim and I clicked.. You both were looking for something and you found it.. the forum.. I was fortunate to be in the right place at the right time.. sometimes fate is funny but You both deserve the reconnection not I for you are the ones that stuck with it.. You opened your eyes and heart to the truth.. James Kim what you have been through would have kept many down. but not you two for you are warriors.. No longer do you hide behind Heroin No longer to you accept the life Heroin brings the violence the constant search and more importantly You both have finally allowed yourself to feel.. to heal and to see a future.. I see two People that I'm Proud and Honored to call my Brother and Sister my Friends.. My family if Proud of you. You both are that important to me.. I owe you a dept of gratitude for letting me in and share the ups and downs of your journey.. to witness your spirits growth has been nothing but a Pleasure and Honor.. Oh sweet heart.. What a HEART WARMING STORY,,, I am sooooo proud of you (and your wife) for MAKING THE CHOICE to GET CLEAN... Not an EASY choice BUT it SAVED YOUR LIFE!  My heart, hugs and prayers are with you and your wife and ALWAYS try to remember that EVERYDAY THAT YOU DON'T USE IS A BETTER DAY THEN WHEN YOU DID!
