Laundry WITHOUT my little "friends"

by SmartYetStupid, Jan 24, 2009 10:32AM
Gah!  I remember back in the day when I was on Percocets (what?  A mere month ago?) and doing laundry as well as other household chores were FUN with my little yellow "friends."  I got up today and thought, "Ugh, I have to do laundry and dust..."  I thought how much fun it would be to just take one little pill and then it would be a fun day of house cleaning and laundry washing....

THEN, I thought to myself, "Good GOD woman!  Laundry and housecleaning is NOT supposed to be fun, you moron!"

So.... I got up, got coffee, and came on here.... I still ain't started the damn laundry or dusting.  I don't want to do it.  Blah!  Blah blah blah!

But, I will do it eventually.  I'm a procrastinator and will probably get started on it around 6:00 tonight.  LMAO!

Anyway... I just wanted to share that little bit of information.  I mean seriously... We know we have a problem when our addictions make house cleaning and laundry FUN for the love of all things holy. LOL!

OMG!!!!!!!!!  I am SOOOOOO feelin' ya on that one!!

I used to pop one and have a blast cleaning, doing laundry, washing dishes, cleaning the freakin' bathroom.....but you're so right...........THAT STUFF IS NOT SUPPOSED TO BE FUN!!!!

I guess we are crazy addicts huh? :)

You are not alone sister!!

I have the HUGEST pile of put off laundry that I will eventually do.....but not right now. LOL.

It's good to know I'm not the only one who feels like that.....

oh....those damn little pills......

LMAO  I feel your pain...I did 6 loads yesterday and was wiped out!!!
The laundry is the only thing that still gets done around here.
I look around with great intentions of doing things, but my body does not follow my brain.

There is so much I need to get done...hopefully one day i will just wake up and do it!!

Love,
Kim

LMAO!  I swear to GOD a pill would make scrubbing the freaking toilets fun.  How sick is that?

I think I'm going to do my laundry in spurts.  I'll sort, take a break, throw a load in, take a break, throw the load in the dryer, take a break.

I should be done... Oh... Sometime around 5:00 tomorrow afternoon!  LMAO!

by theeagle, Jan 24, 2009 11:27AM
I thought that all of you "pol's" had aides to do stuff like laundry?   Even though I am the husband I believe that I will vacuum for a minute and see if it brings a smile to my face..........you crack me up, smart!   Keep doing it...

Aides?  Are you kidding me?  I can barely get my "aides" to open my damn mail at work, much less do my damn laundry!  And I work for the government making a government salary, so no money for a maid.  Pooh.  I think any recovering addict should get a maid for their efforts.  Maybe we could start a not-for-profit group.  Maids for addicts that are too lazy to scrub their own toilets.  Hee!

Look.... If you are going to vacuum, I must insist that you come to MY house and vacuum.  I am, after all, recovering over here!  That just ain't right....

Uhh.... I still ain't sorted the laundry.....

Oh well.  I don't know what my rush is.  It ain't like it it's going anywhere!  If worse comes to worse, I can always turn my undies inside out and wear them again!  LMMFAO!

by theeagle, Jan 24, 2009 11:36AM
Cant you hang the stupid laundry outside and embed it with a little detergent? Probably two rains and a  day of low humidity and sun and they would be done!!!!

by dominosarah, Jan 24, 2009 11:44AM
Dont wear any undies.......less laundry!!!!  LOL

Screw it.  I'm just going to spread it out and spray a little Febreeze on it.

Dar.  Laundry done.

LOL!

by SmartYetStupid, Jan 24, 2009 11:57AM
Ok.  Laundry sorted.

Whew! I need a f***ing nap, now.

by worried878, Jan 24, 2009 01:06PM
i am remebering the days when washing my car was a sheer blast...sumpin wrong with that!

by freefallingsj, Jan 24, 2009 01:09PM
I am so glad to find out I am not the only one that needed a little "motivation" to do the chores!  I figure if I can keep up with the laundry and somehow get meals on the table for  the kids it will be a good day!

by disFUNctional, Jan 24, 2009 02:26PM
My kids have eaten so much fast food in the past 3 weeks....I figure I will get me healthy then work on them..lol

by Ronnie152, Jan 24, 2009 02:33PM
LMAO...... This just hits home so much..... I was wonder woman on my candy, could do anything, rolling out of bed is hard for me now.....

by dominosarah, Jan 24, 2009 02:45PM
I had the cleanest windows, inside and out in town.......that is really sick!!!  You should see them now.........nasty and dirty!!!!!

by SmartYetStupid, Jan 24, 2009 03:47PM

Well... I put one load in the washer.  It's been sitting there waiting to be put in the dryer for over an hour!  LMAO!

This is just pathetic!

I'm going to go put it in the dryer now.  And then take a nap.

And I hear you Domino!  My house literally sparkled when I was on the pills (I still am.. I'm tapering.  I'm not allowed to have any one weekends, though!  Gah!)

Now, my house doesn't sparkle so much... Unless the light hits the dust at a certain angle!  LOLOL!

by dominosarah, Jan 24, 2009 03:52PM
I just was sitting here watching a dust rabbit go by now........i also have a load in the dryer that needs to come out..........guess i will just sit here for a bit and think on it!!!!

by SmartYetStupid, Jan 24, 2009 04:04PM
LMAO Domino!  Somehow the dust doesn't bother me so much.  Is it possible the pills gave us all a touch of OCD?

Anyway, can I get a freakin' medal over here?  I put the damn clothes in the damn dryer and folded the ones that were in the dryer that my damn husband left in there!

by Believer1179, Jan 24, 2009 04:21PM
To: ALL! :)
WOW!!

This topic has really been freakin' hilarious and I just LOVE it!!!!

I think those damn pills definately gave us all OCD....NOW WHAT???

We just get used to having new dust bunny house pets??!! LOL!

My house is a disaster!

Oh, the days when cleaning was fun.........don't think they will ever come back.....:(

How do these damn non-addict mothers, wives, women...do all of this stuff and have left over energy to be happy and do additional things with their time/??????

It's just not fair to us! Damn It!

Well.....we will get thru this and get our houses in order at some point.....what is the big rush anywayzzzz????? THERE'S NOT!

Getting us WELL is NUMBER ONE right now!!!!!

Congrats SMART on getting a whole load done AND folding another!! GO GIRL!!! :) LOL!

Are we pathetic????  :)

love,
jen....................it's good to relate, huh?

by disFUNctional, Jan 24, 2009 05:24PM
The ONLY thing more fun without the happy pills is SEX...sooo forget the laundry and go have some sex....lol

by theeagle, Jan 24, 2009 05:36PM
I think dysfunctional is really on to something!!! Lets add "sex" in some manner to the Thomas Recipe - - I know Thomas03 would be honored..........

After reading and agreeing (even contributing..) to this whole entire thing I do have one question.   Now, does anyone have any opinions about June Cleaver?  The "Beavers" mother?  Vacumming in Oscar Da Laurentia and high heels with that smile on her face and an immaculate house and family?  I am starting to think something suspicious may have going down between takes............never once sawa a housekeeper over there....

by disFUNctional, Jan 24, 2009 06:03PM
LOLOLOLOL...toooo funny.  The vikes were in her apron...I JUST KNOW IT!!

by joangy, Jan 25, 2009 11:19PM
It is so nice to know there are people out there who know EXACTLY what I am going thru!! I used to literally vacuum my husband out of the house- my house has always been immaculate!! Now that I am getting off vicodin my house is a disaster- but my husband has not been complaining about the amt of sex he's getting lately :)

by kelley43, Jan 26, 2009 02:15AM
Ah, memories...  I remember a couple years ago I would LOVE to take a few hydrocodones and spend the day in the backyard raking leaves and having a huge fire and obsessively cleaning my backyard.  I could go like 6 or more hours!
And when we moved from michigan to Cali, I packed and unpacked mostly by myself.  I was a packing, organized maniac. And yes on the housecleaning!  What's the fun in it now?
now when the kitchen floor is too sticky, i just wipe it with a paper towel.  Too tired to mop.
grrrrrr

by worried878, Jan 26, 2009 06:03AM
energizer bunny..that was me..just give me a list of saturday chores and i was on it..wash the care, wax the car, vacuum the car...100 degrees to boot in july...then do the laundry, mop and clean the bathrooms...off to the grocery///then  to the beach..never had to stop for a re-charge on my hydro batteries!  I was  one mean machine..u had better get out of my way or i would clean u 2 if u were in my way  LOL

by Florida_Guy737, Jan 26, 2009 06:05AM
I remember the few weeks before Thanksgiving 2007 when we we're hosting; I was always working away from home and took some time off to 'spruce' the house up.  Well that sprucing led to a interior painting, new light fixtures, new wood floors in a couple of rooms, new landscaping, etc :-)....was I tired? Not a bit...after I stopped, I didn't do anything except exercise and eat for 3 months.

Now I'm normal and have to pace myself...miss that energy sometimes.

Guy

by Beth105, Jan 26, 2009 06:35AM
Just think though, we are "just us" now no extra additives. Whatever we do it comes from the love or compassion  we have for others, we do things because we "really" want to. AND we don't do those things that we use to think were SO important. How amazing does that feel?? (smiles) I hope all of you have an awesome week, we are all human, mistakes will happen be true to you and honor Jesus our Lord and Savior, and everything will fall into place, except for all the laundry and the house BUT who cares.....lol         -Beth

by theeagle, Jan 26, 2009 08:42AM
Can someone please tell me how to properly do laundry (never knew the colors were segregated!) - - so that I can work on a deal with the wife similar to R2R's ??

by Beth105, Jan 27, 2009 06:55PM

Eagle.........you are too cute. lol   You really would be a hit with your wife if you learn to do the laundry. You could probably get anything you wanted if you could fold a fitted sheet properly. lmao

by NautyOne, Feb 01, 2009 08:06PM
I must be a freak.......I love to cook, do laundry, vacuum, and be a tidy yidy.........pills or not I love the feeling of a clean everything.  It makes me feel good and my endorphins are doing the  happy dance too..........nothing like a clean looking and smelling house to brighten my mood...........I feel proud as a peac-ock when I have a clean, waxed and nice smelling car.......I get a sense of pride out of it and up-lifts my mood???  call me what you will..........you always do........lol.
