Please post suggestions for us going through withdrawal on ideas to keep us busy

I noticed a lot of people that are on here right now going through withdrawal are having trouble trying to keep themselves occupied w something that isn't too strenuous (sp?). So please post some suggestions here for us!

I've had very very mild withdrawal in the past, this is my first experience w/ a tough one so I only have a few ideas:
video games / playing games on a phone
do something craft: draw, paint, color, make a necklace, sew...
listen to music that puts you in a good mood

Tomorrow I have the day off and it's getting warm where I live so I decided I am going to get my patio pretty. I'm feeling better today so I should be able to get to the store and get what I need to get it done. I'm going to hang some wind chimes, maybe a bird feeder... Re pot some plants...

So please put your ideas and help us out :-)

First let me just say I was abusing pain polls for the past eight months. But the last three had been daily. So my wd symptoms are prob pretty mild. I was taking at my peak 60-70mg a day of lortabs. I just hit 4 days clean today and suddenly feel like a million bucks physically.  Mentally is still a struggle but nothing like the second night.
Relating to your question. Absolutely go outside and soak up some sun. Yesterday I was able to get to the park and do some walking and some meditation. It was a great help. As far as sleeping each night gets a little better for me. Today was a great day because I had a perfect oppurtunity to get some dope but actually turned it down. I had a pill in hand and put it back. I'm so proud of myself. That accomplishment I feel pushed my recovery fwd. And don't worry the pills are not in my house.
I think all of your suggestion are very good. Music has been a big help for me. Great job. I'm not sure what day u are on but for me day four is incredibly better!!

Wishing you the best of luck through detox. There's nothing like warm weather and sunshine to brighten your mood.  I also hung a birdfeeder and I sit on my porch with my binoculars so I can watch them up close.  I even got a bird book to help identify and check off the ones I spot.

When I first started tapering off the percs, I went to the craft store and bought a bunch of different, uncomplicated craft projects so  I could keep my hands and mind occupied without getting too frustrated.

I love gardening, and when i felt up to it I would play in the dirt.  Couldn't do it for long because of severe rebound pain, but a little each day and my gardens are ready for planting.

Do you like to read?  Nothing like a good book.

We live on the water so I would try and fish for a while everyday.  They're really not biting yet but it is very relaxing and peaceful.

I think as long as you do the things that make you happy and keep you occupied, the time will pass more q;uickly.

Hope you patio turns out the way you want.  I might just need to get some wind chimes tomorrow.  (Good Idea)

Peace and strength . . . Deb

WEll all those suggestions are awesome, my problem is I don't like going outside.  So I like to play my music loud while I do housework and sing along with it.  It is so much fun when you know no one else is listening or watching,(i didn;t say I sing good) but that seems to increase my mood and at the end I have a clean house.

I too like photography and am an avid birdwatcher.  Its easy here on the water to see all kinds of birds, water birds, etc...we even have American bald eagles about 2 miles down the road.  As soon as I figure it out, I will post some pics of the parents.  Havent seen the babies yet (2 of em), and love to fish also.  Usually I wait for my husband to get a day off, but I am 20 feet from the water and could fish alot more.  They arent biting too good here yet either, but its right around the corner :)
