Question about dxm

3 or 4 times this past month I caught my friend with 6 pks of contact C in her car . She eats them like candy. What is in it that does this to her and how much does she have too take to make herself high. I am really worried about her and all she keeps saying is that she has flu like symptoms. How much of this can she take without overdosing herself. GOSH, i just want to take her and shake some sense into her..Please Help as I have no previous experience with this.

Check the back of the box for ingredients. I have alot of experience with DXM, and if the back of the box has "dextromethorphan" then she is trying to trip. If it has "sudafed" listed then she is trying to speed. The DXM will over ride the sudafed if both things are listed as ingredients. She'll just get a trip with a speed effect.
To overdose on DXM is ALMOST impossible, but it is possible. DXM can, although, cause horrible things to happen to her brain/eyes/basic motor skills.
I was an addicted slave to it for 6 years, and it really messed up my coordination and vision.
I've heard stories of way worse things happening though. My friend did it for almost 14 years, and he basically is just perma fried.
If it's the sudafed she's after, then that can cause her heart to weaken and she can develop murmurs, or holes in the heart, or she could even have a full fledged heart attack.
Sadly, no matter what she's after in the product, it is going to shave years off of her life if she does not stop this. I had to come to terms with that, and that is a depressing thing to realize.
The more you do it, the deeper down that hole you go, etc.
What you can do, is just let her know that you care deeply about her, and that you are worried about this becoming more serious than it already is. But, with every addict, you really can't do anything about it until SHE is ready to stop.
Research and tell her what it is that she is doing to herself. Maybe she isn't so far gone that she wont listen?
I wish you guys good luck, and I hope she sees that this stuff, although seems harmless, is a huge deal and that she shouldn't be messing with it.

Is Contact C like Sudafed or those other alergy and flu meds you get at the pharmacy counter and have to sign for? (like Mary asked).
I'm guessing it is.
They can produce a speeding effect, but your friend will be doing major damage to herself eating so many of those...could possibly cause heart attack or stoke at those levels, besides the drying effect of all her mucous membranes, her eyes could also be effected....so many things.

I'm not sure but is this the Contact that is sold behind the counter, that you have to sign for?  If it is, she is probably taking it for the speed effect.  I think it has the stuff in it that makes crystal meth.  All this is guessing. Hopefully someone that knows for sure will respond to your post.
