Roombas & Pets?

I have to wonder how many roomba sales happen because people have pets and they want to see what happens:

Roomba vs. Pet

If you don't know what I'm talking about, just go on youtube and search for roomba dog or roomba cat. :-)

I wish i could just vaccuum my cat...i wish there was a pet brush with a vaccuum attatched. I have a short hair cat that i thought wouldn't shed...wrong!  It drives me sometimes...now it's like "no outfit is complete without cat hair."

These things really pick up pet hair? I find eventually i've got to get down on hands and knees and use a wire brush to get it all up.

I want one for one reason only; to terrorize the cats. I would guess that 40% of all roomba sales are based on pet terrorizing. :-)

The funny thing is the technology for making a roomba has been around since the 70's. i remember when I was a kid I built a little obot that was essecntially a roomba (without the vacuum part) from a schematics manual I brought.

It did essentially the same thing; it would wander about the house, learning it's enviornment, and plug itself in when the batteries ran low.
it was totally useless for anything other than freaking out my dog, who eventually murdered it with a take down tackle.

I have a Roomba and so does my sister, although they are both in need of repair at the moment. They are Great!  Especially if you have a lot of pet hair. My dogs won't even get out of the way when it heads to them, doesn't faze them in the least.
I highly recommend the Roomba.

Me too!! ha! WIth all the pet hair in this house I know I would go spend $150.00 and in 2 weeks it blow up.
4 cats would win over that tiny thing. I have 2 oreks and it gives them a run for there money!

I did go on U-Tube and watch for a bit.

I don't know...but speaking of pets and floors, this is something you may want to know. If any of you use the Swiffer Wet-Jet floor cleaner, and you have pets, it can make them REALLY sick, and can cause all kinds of health problems. People have lost their pets, and have taken them to their Vets because of kidney failure, etc. They never made the connection. They found that the pets would lick their paws after walking across the wet floor, and they started getting really sick, but they didn't know why. The chemicals used in the Wet-Jet are very toxic to pets. I try to pass this info on to anyone with pets, and this looked like a good opportunity to share. You can google this info for yourself...this might save someone's pet.
