STINKY PERFUME

Does anyone else hate the smell of ladies perfume?

There are very few brands that I can tolerate.  I love men's cologne and occasionally wear that if anything at all.  I get more compliments than ever and asked what I'm wearing.

I can get a headache that won't leave me from some perfume smells.  

Have you ever smelled a really old bottle of Avon perfume?  Well, that's what most ladies perfumes smell like to me, regardless of brand or cost.

Unisex brands don't bother me, but since about 20 years ago, I cannot be in the same room, car or anyplace closed up w/a woman if she's wearing perfume, or over-sprayed.

I read once that a doctor's biggest pet peeve is when people have been too sick to quickly shower, so bathe themseves in perfume in order to camouflage any body odor that probably isn't there in the first place.  It actually said the some doctors leave the room asap in order not to get a headache from the strong smells.  It read that doctors can prescribe meds w/o much of an interview just to be rid of this person, or to lack concentration of the patients chief complaint

I drove my little sister 5 blocks back to her apartment just now.  She had just sprayed herself, and I almost refused a ride for her, but definitely had to get her away from my house so drove w/my head out of the window....really.  I was lining up stories of how to explain if a cop saw me.

My aunt has this same problem.  

How common is this?  Do tell if you have this problem also.  Just wondering how many people feel the same.

I thought I was the only one who that happened to, I get awful throbbing headaches sometimes.  Light body sprays don't bother me so much (ya know the kind thats like after shower spray), but perfume does. I have to make up excuses to leave when I'm around my aunt for to long, she wears something called Goddess, she tried to give me a bottle of it for Christmas last year, and I finally came clean and told her it made my head spin. And that Lucky You stuff. My friend wears this and it drives me nuts. I literally feel physically sick sometimes. To much perfume gives me a an all over general nasty feeling.

I just about heave when i smell Tabu.  That smell just sends me over the edge.  I used to work with this old swamp sow and she would bathe in this Lilies of the Valley type perfume.  Everybody was complaining all the time about how bad this stunk so i finally had listened and smelled it once to many times and i went up to her and told her the next time she marinated in this cr@p she was going to be picking it out of her a$$.  Never did smell that again.

I can't stand the smell of White Diamonds.My aunt wears the the soap,lotion,powder.spray,plug in,pantie protector,scratch and sniff and whatever the he!! else you get in that gift box from Macys...OMG it makes me sick to my stomach just thinking about it.

I WAS, lol....gonna say that I too cannot STAND the smell of women's perfume, absolutely cannot STAND it...and I am SUPER-sensitive to smells.  I can smell someone smoking (sorry smokers, lol) when I'm outside!  You don't have a schnoz this big and not have talents....hey, don't anyone run with that!  Ya know what?  Now that I think of it, I USED to like Beautiful by Estee Lauder, I wonder if I STILL like it, I haven't smelled it in years.

I ALSO, LOVE men's cologne enemy!  I LOVE the stuff!  I ALWAYS give a head turn if not actually stop the man I smell wearin' it for a longer whiff and to compliment him on it.  Yes, I'll even do that if Andy's with me.  I have never worn Andy's (Qorum), but I've run out of deodorant and worn his Old Spice stuff...

Did you ever see all the stuff you get in those gift boxes at Christmas time??? OK maybe  theres not a pantie protector,or plug in or scratch and sniff,but you get where I was going with that..She bathes in it...It's NOT pleasant at all.

I wear perfume,but I don't overdo it.I were "Light Blue' by Dolce and Gabbana.It's not a heavy fragrance at all and it smells clean not flowery or anything like that.Of course I don't overdo it either...Too much of anything just ain't good.

I remember Sweet Honesty.....how about Timeless by Avon?....and Rare Gold?......I really used to almost shampoo my hair with it, until one day a lady hinted to me and I took ti gracefully.

Jacqui, I wore the heck out of Beautiful too.  I can still smell it all over the "rabbit" coat I used to have.

Man, I can't believe how I can't stand any of these smells when I used to be so guilty of douching with it.

I thought I was the only one with that problem.  I can't stand most perfumes and they give me a headache.  I haven't bought any perfume since they stopped making "Victoria" by Victoria's Secret.  It was the best. It just smelled clean, like soap.  I've tried other Victoria Secret stuff and it's awful.  I want Gain my laundry soap to make a perfume.lol  I love the smell of my laundry.

Mary.sara and I just talked about that just a few weeks ago.There is NOTHING like the smell of Gain laundry detergent...I LOVE IT...I like just the plain Gain,I don't care much for all those new scents they have out now.Nothing smells better then to wash your bed linens with Gain and then hang them out to dry on a warm summer day.Makes you not want to get out of bed in the morning,it smells so good.They ought to bottle it,I'd buy it.LOL....Peace...Kim

Hey, far be it from ME to ask anyone to think twice about sniffin' their laundry, at least it's clean, lol.......I have not smelled that Gain laundry detergent...my laundry could smell better, maybe next bottle I buy'll be that stuff....do we get paid for endorsements around here?

Oh Jacqui you have to get some Gain...the original scent.  It is just great smelling soap and cleans your clothes too!!!!   Spoil yourself and get a jug.  They have dryer sheets too.  Hey maybe we could rub dryer sheets all over us!!!!!!

Jene Nat'e (SP) from Avon user to bath in the stuff now I can not handle the smell of perfume.. My niece comes over it is like walking into a perfume factory.. When she lived with me I had a nightmare that I was locked in a basement with her and there was only one tiny window way high I could not reach and all I could smell was her perfume.. Woke up sick to my stomach with a big headache.. Now when a old lady gets on the elevator with me I have flashbacks of that dream.. Perfume yuck...

I'm going to confess.  I did try to make perfume out of my Gain laundry soap.  I put it with some rubbing alcohol in a spray bottle. Didn't work so great.  Sprayed my hair with a little and it got crunchy. LMAO

I don't like overly-fragranced anything. Yuck!! My hubby likes cologne, the only kind I buy him is from the Dollar Tree. It's called cool reflect, doesn't smell bad and fades very quickly! So he thinks he's Mr. Macho with his purty-smelling stuff, when in 5 minutes, you can't even smell it!! Makes us both happy!!...=)...=)

Guilty....I wear perfume...however...don't bathe in it...get a lot of compliments...I am very concience of others and only apply an appropriate amount.

I feel the same way about perfume too! I can only wear a few brands. Curve is one and Clean Provence is another.

Jaqui and Sara if you like the smell of laundry detergent and plain soap you'll love the scents made by clean. There's one called Fresh Laundry.

i have a mager headace from the perfume i made.its for somebody i hat alot.it smells good its very strong and has a poppy after smell.ahhhhhhh my head hurts....8(
