****The New Note Feature***

So what do ya'll think about it.  I don't like it.  Surprise......lol.   The reason is that I view a note to someone as personal......not for everyone to read.  seems like more clutter to clean too.  anyone agree?

I think it makes things a lil' cluttered!!

BUT...I do like the submit button at the bottom of the post box...that way you don't get a double post...you can see it is sending!!!

I have to agree with Nauty because I think that writing these little notes back and forth takes away from the forum. People are already busy reading personal messages and now we also have notes too add to it. I like to read the posts and offer help or advice if I can and these notes are taking our time away from helping people. Just my own thoughts!!!!!!!!

Since I don't have to clock in or out of the forum, and if I did, I better get paid for it, My time is exactly that...my time, to do with as I so choose. I think the notes are ok. Use them or don't. There not a requirement.
What I would like to see them put in is those smiley face things to add to posts. Could save some typeing. I would especially like one with that particular finger showing...that could come in handy.

Just a thought, but do you think someone is making money on these cute little note things we click & send?........because they are expressions it looks to me that way, but I'm always skeptical.  if so I would make the person who made the finger one rich...lol

Hi,

Just for full exposure, as I think most of you know, this site is supported financially by the ads. The box to send the notes, actually has no ads at all, so we're not making money off of it. The expressions we designed ourselves.

Thank you for the feedback though, it's been received positively overall across the site, but we are already looking into how to make sure it doesn't get too cluttered, and lose track of things like mood changes.

I think Harry was talking about the rest of the site. The addiction forum is just too busy, it is hard to keep up with it. The notes don't really do it for me.:)

I can take or leave it, though I'm leaning towards keeping. I find some advantages. For instance a scammer thought it was cute to send me (and probably several others PMs with their scheme) I noted on their profile that they are a scammer andf being reported.

It's kind of odd when people try to have "conversations" using notes. It shows up on a profile as if they are posting to themselves.

GTMI is right, Harry was talking about the rest of the Medhelp site. The hundreds of other members here at Medhelp are responding positively to the added features. Its an option in your profile. Take it or leave it. But I really don't think we needed to have as many new posts created about the addition of Notes as we did today. In reality, the Addiction forums are a small part of Medhelp. If other forums suggested it, and enjoy it, its here to stay despite how many posts there are disapproving of it. The goal right now is for them to find a way that it doesn't clutter up the recent activities so things like "moods" and new journal entries don't get overlooked by the Community.
