This Forum

This forum was created because jokes, poems, chitchat were not appreciated on the other Addiction Forum. We deal with addiction here too! We all have much experience in addiction, we all are addicts. The difference is our "style" and approach to recovery. I think any intelligent person can easily look up to the top of the page and see the link for the other forum. The reason people come to this forum, they feel more comfortable and are supported in a different way. We don't judge here and when someone falls, we pick them up. We are just not strictly "Just the Facts Ma'm" type of forum. We can express ourselves in any way that we desire.

No I wrote my comment, and sometimes i'll even right a long comment and then instead of post comment,I'll accidently hit back to forum, and I did just that, but I was slowly hitting go back to forum like once then got excited and hit post comment for or five times on accident.  Understand?

I am on day 2 and hanging in there. I have never been sick to my stomach before during w/d's. It is just in the morning though. I am off to work and hope to see you later tonight.

Ugh!  I just did what lonote talked about - wrote a post and instead of hitting 'Post Comment' I hit 'Back to Forum'.  

I agree about this forum – it really does have a different atmosphere.  I have lurked on the other forum and maybe posted a time or two, but it’s not the same.  I feel so comfortable here and immediately felt like I belonged.

Tim – day 2 and you are going to work?  That is awesome!  You are doing great – I’m so proud of you.

I am at work now and sitting in my office. My brother and I own a restaurant/nighclub in Boston. It is pretty quiet right now. It will get crazy around 10:00 pm and I can just chill in my office until needed. I am not feeling to good right now and don't know if I will stay the night.

I hope you are doing well darlin. You are really sticking to this and your post are so informative. I like the way you write and really share your feelings. I am so proud of you and know you will stick to this. So many people here inspire me to just hang in there.

This forum ROCKS!!     We are here for each other and I believe we make first timers feel comfortable and welcom.   Most of all, I have seen us give hope to those who struggle.   I just saw (last night)a newcomer on the other forum get slammed for making a step toward getting  clean (and a few didn't agree with her method).   It broke my heart, really.  I hope she comes here.    I resisted the change initially because I felt like we were getting "kicked out" in a way.  But I remained open minded and am so glad I did because this is really, really, nice.

This is the best thing that could of happened to the addiction forums. I saw the person get slammed too and it ticked me off big time. There is no need of that. People come to a forum like this to get help, ideas, support and kindness. They don't come to be judged. I thank Medhelp for doing this and feel the love too!!!

Too cool.  My whole family is from Massachusetts so next time I go “home” I’ll have to swing by and say hi!  Does your brother know what you are going through?  If you can’t stay, I don’t blame you.  You have to take care of yourself.  What you are doing is the most important thing in the world, so don’t hesitate to put that first.  Everything else will fall into place.
