Thanks so much for the encouragement. I think now that I did it picking up my girls yesterday. I was swinging them around and must have torn a muscle. It is uncomfortable to say the least. I took a flexiril and it is making me so tired. It really didn't do much for me. It is funny that they can't do anything for shoulders. They gave me a sling type thing that kept my arm against my chest. It had velcro on it and was a real pain in the neck. I did try some heat and now will try ice. You are very kind to be concerned and I appreciate it.
Scarface..........that was a really good movie. I was thinking of going on "Demand" and finding a good movie to watch. I know that typing isn't helping this.
I wish you a comfortable night and will type at you later.
God Bless,
Tim
I was off for awhile...Muscle relaxer kicked in and zoned out watching Scarface..Say hello to my little friend...lol...
Anyway, sounds like you know how tough shoulders can be. I find it so frustrating how they can do back, knee and hip surgeries so successfully; but shoulders you are kindof screwed either way. If you have surgery, it's never the same and always seems to be prone to more injury and if you don't your still screwed. They tell me to expect a replacement in 5-8 years. I already have three degenerative conditions in there and they tell me to go until the wheels fall off. They would continue prescribing if I wanted the meds..I'm like why should I have to wait, while I'm in the prime of my life? Just fix the dang thing.
Sorry, went off on my soap-box...I would suspect you could have done something more to your shoulder...The pain you describe, from underneath radiating up in cooralation to the laps you were doing could have torn something especially if that shoulder was a bit weak to begin with. Not to say that your weak, I just know your this big buff guy. And that burning between the blades can be really uncomfortable. I get that when both my shoulders are hurting and I'm basically using my back muscles to hold my shoulders and back in line so they don't fall forward and cause more pain. Heat would be good for the back area, just ice on the inflamed shoulder.
I really hope you start to feel some relief soon. I can really sympathize with ya here.
Now I am getting a burning between my shoulder blades. I think I'm going to ice it and lay day for a bit.
It is under my "angel wing" lol and radiates up to my shoulder. I broke my shoulder pretty bad about 6 years ago. It was broken in 4 places. I recouped pretty fast with that and never had any disability. I was told that it might bother me for the rest of my life. I started swimming laps a few days ago and think must have over done it. I am in pretty good shape, but I didn't do a lot of running or exercizing when I was using. I never had an MRI done on my shoulder. I had one on my back and they found a cyst that goes from my liver to kidney. I have to have a test tomorrow and can't eat or drink after midnight. I am not really worried about it. I am the type that worrys about myself when the time comes. I worry about everyone else though. I have been putting ice on it and taking ibruprophen and gabentin. I have some valium, but I haven't taken any yet. I also have flexiril and it zonks me out. I might take it tonight. Thanks so much for caring.
God Bless,
Tim
