Venlafaxine ER and Lorazepam

Hello All!  This is the first time I have posted a comment/question on here but I often come here to read posts.  I was recently put on 150mg of Venlafaxine once daily in combination with 1mg Lorazepam as needed.  I am responding quickly to the Venlafaxine ER and have only had a few bumps throughout the day that required half of the 1mg Lorazepam.  My problem is sleeping?  I'm so worried about the addictive qualities of Lorazepam that I am hesitant to take it to help me sleep.  Before I was prescribed either of these meds I was using Melatonin in combo with Nyquil (about 4 tablespoons) to sleep.  Can you take Melatonin and Nyquil with Venlafaxine ER and Lorazepam, or would that be a big mistake?  I need sleep desparately!!!!

Hey John, I took lorazapam to help me detox (1mg), but I took it for 4 months and I did suffer w/d. I had to taper to .5 for a bit then take every other night. I f you have to take it, just don't do it daily and for a long period. Sorry, I don't know if the other meds.

My doctor told me to take it in the morning too.  So, like the good little sheep, I have been taking it at about 8 am.  I'll try taking it later to see if that helps.  Thanks for the reply!

Hi, i dont know about mixing all those together, but i did want to ask, what time of the day are you taking the Venlafaxine ER?  I just got off it (aka effexor) but my doctor had told me to take it in the morning, but I found that actually taking it at night I was able too sleep better.

you should ask your doctor that one remember that everyone responds differrently to different kinda of pills what might work for you might not work on someone else ok :)
