Thanx so much you're so sweet! I love this board! Its helping me so much emotionally I can't believe it! This is day 4 of my tapering and I noticed the same thing about "thinking about the next pill" I hate that! Today the cravings are less. 2 pills each taper seems like a lot to me though. I'm doing a half per dayuntil I reach 4. Then see how I feel. Sorry about the double post up there but I don't know how to delete it hehe. I appreciate everyone taking the time to respond its helping me more than you know. And thanx for letting me share on your thread jennkitten!
Jenn,
Sorry I haven't gotten back to you-my internet was down. I sent you a message. Listen to FLaddict and NautyOne-they have EXELLENT taper schedules that will leave you with virtually no withdrawals. Contact them with a message so they can send you some one on one advice. I used their split the pill and spread them out method-I'm on day 4 and the cravings are starting to lessen. My whole day isn't revolving around taking the next dose!! The physical part isn't bad with the pill splitting.
Let me know how you are doing and once againn, sorry for my delayed response!
Take care
Greebo
I am tapering down 2 pills every five days. For example I started with 6 a day for 5 days, then 4 a day for 5 days, then 2 for 5 days then 1 for 7 days. I am on day 1 of 4 a day for 5 days. So far this tapering system has worked much better than I thought. If I can help with anything else please dont hesitate. And let me know how things are going with you and how the system works for you.....good luck and take care.

FLaddict may have gone to bed as she's on the east coast. She has a great taper schedule and I believe it is dropping the dose every few days, not every day. Once you get down to 3 pills a day you can break them in half and spread out the halves - it helps with the withdrawals if you keep lowering the dose gradually. I'm sure she'll answer in the morning.
Keep posting for support - you've made that first hard step - Congrats!!
Thank you so much! That really helps. Also , each time I reduce, so I stay on that dose for a while or do I reduce everyday or every few days? Thanx for your help this is great!

Thanks everyone for the info that really helped. I will do that , take them spread out and I see how that could lessen the effects between the time stretches. I appreciate it and cant wait to be over this as I sure everyone else is. Silhouette62 good luck and if I get any other helpful info I will pass it along.
Thanks again !!!
I learned it from you - couldn't have gotten to where I am today without you dear! Congrats on 5 months - nice that you're doing so well you forgot!!
lurker is right ( she is a good listener) As you taper down spread the doses out further. So if you are taking 6 pills per day every 3 hours right now when you get to taking 5 pills you will take them every 4 hours for example.. As you get lower your doses get further apart.
The best way to taper is to spread the pills out evenly during your waking hours. so if you are taking 5 a day and you are awake for 15 hours a day take one every 3 hours. Then one every 4 hours then every 5 hours, etc as you taper down. That helps to get you to a lower dose with the least negative side effects.
That's the same thing I'm wondering. I am tapering too but don't know how many hours aprt to take them. I take perocet (5mils) I took 6 Wednesday then 5.5 yesterday. I'm anxious to get down to 4 and only have taken 4 today 4 to 6 hours apart. But the last one barely took the edge off so I'm thinking I should do 5 today and 4.5 tmrw then 4 Sunday and stay at 4 a few days. And maybe just go as many hours as I can.
It sounds like your dealing with other meds to so don't have any advice to offer on that sorry. But I'm sure others here know. Didn't mean to take over your post jennkitten but it kinda related to my experience. And I would like some advice about the same thing as you hehe.
