Who (famous) would you invite to a dinner party?

What four people from history would you invite to a dinner party?


I was asked this question at a job interview about a year ago. It was rather startling and frankly irritated the heck out of me.

So I asked the interviewer;

"What KIND of dinner party?"

he said "It's Your party, your choice."

So I got bloody minded and answered;

"Ludwig Beethoven.

Truman Capote.

Rasputin.

Thomas Jefferson."

To which he actually started laughing, and commented it sounded more like a good brawl then a dinner party. Which was the point of my answer. :->

I would invite John Taylor from Duran Duran (he can leave his Juicy Couture wife at home, how else would I seduce him). Then I would invite Jesus Christ (oops, there goes the seduction plan!), and I'd round it out with Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt. (Their kids can play with mine in the playroom.)

Heh heh... I'm flattered I get invited to a dinner, although I'd probably drink to much wine, make an *ss of myself and start singing old vaudeville songs or going on about hedgerow warfare during WWII. (...which is why I used to get invited to dinner parties  so much:-) )

Jesus would be a good choice. After all, when you run out of drink and vittles...well, you're set (oooh Jesus, we need more Lager!!! Here's some water, DO YOUR THING!!!))

And Elvis...  have lots of fried food and don't ask about his Mama or he'll NEVER shut up.

I love some of these choices. (Flmagi, I'll warn you, Hitler could be a conversation hog, and thus boring. He's also a drama queen which makes it worse).

Naughty, the rules are they can be anyone from history, past present, famous or not.

Someone reminded me that Jimmy Buffett is such a good choice - man after my own heart. Smuggled pot for awhile ...... excellent musician with a degree to match.. has many endeavors including a line of Margaretiville stores, a broadway play called "Dont Stop the Carnival" by Herman Wouk, with the score done by Buffett ........... very accomplished individual. And I always wanted to meet Thomas Jefferson. Jerry Garcia would have to be interesting to meet also. (he may bring the rest of the band if thats okay...)  - - -  I suppose that for a fourth I would like to say that Jane Fonda is my pick - hard to understand because I still picture her sitting on a 40mm quad anti-aircrafte gun that may well have killed a close friend of mine. But she had her convictions and has also had a lot of experience with politics and the whole world in general.  Would be an interesting dinner at any rate..............................................

I really dont think Page and Plant "hate" each other from what i have read they have dinner together several times a year, i think Plant is just trying to be on his own, during Led Zeppelins day everyone knew if not for Jimmy Page there was no Zeppelin
