I have to say being honest with myself, that yes I most likely would
use pills again if I did not have to worry about money.....

That is part of my disease, I would feel all powerful in my own mind.  And no I do not
believe that money buys happiness, but it does buy delusions.  And that is what my
DOC did for me, it gave me big delusions of power and self.  SO if I had all the money
I needed it would most likely kill me .  My husband and I play the lottery every week, never fail.  He has 21 years of soberity and he says that he hasn't won because GOD is saving him from himself, and I agree. Money can buy alot of things but not happiness or
self respect.

I have always wanted to be a philanthropist! I would invest the money and endow a rehab facility for folks who really want to get clean but have no money or insurance ( there would be a screening process). It would be a nice one-like the ones that the rich folks can go to. And maybe full ride scholarships for those who complete the program, stay clean and maintain a passing GPA- whatdya think?

I don't know. I learned from my divorce that money doesn't help anything. My income was cut by 2/3 but my family was there and I wouldn't go back to having more money becasue I was able to realize what really matters in life.

Interesting thought.  Although I have never had money - or rather an abundance of it - I know many people who have.  A former friend and boss was extremely wealthy (to the tune of about 200 million).  Most miserable person I ever met in my life.  Had the best of everything life had to offer and was still so miserable - horrible marriage that ended in a horrible divorce, estranged from kids, lost a child, then lost his business.  Now I know money was not the CAUSE, but it didn't help.  Sure I would love to have more money, but I don't think about it like I did when I was younger.  Got my child thru college thank God, and have a nice home and much to be thankful for.  I found out that as long as we have family and health, money doesn't really play into the equation.  That being said, if I had it, I would donate much of it to favorite charities.  I would obviously pay off my house, and put some back for my daughter.  Beyond that I don't know.  I could not imagine not working - maybe volunteer work with schools?  I love kids, and I know our public schools need all the help we can get. I can honestly say I wouldn't return to using for sure.  I do like a drink occasionally, so I might switch from smirnoff to Absolut.  That is about it!!

It would be very positive for my life and money does make you happier...If you have ever not had any you know that being able to pay your bills and have some left over to do what you want would make you happy. Sorry but it would.

I would never start using again!!!

I would buy myself a house ON the beach and then buy my husband one down the street from me. Hahaha I would buy my kids everything they ever wanted...wait a minute I already do that. spoiled bratts.

Other than that and a few toys I don't really need a lot. I would help animals of course and probably start a Chihuahua plantation for Lizzie Lou and I. LOL I just can't seem to have enough Chihuahuas I love the critters.

Oh using, not on your life! I would rather help adddicts get clean than go back to a life that was so miserable.

I don't believe in lottery tickets but if I won, I would use the money to give back to everyone who helped me along the way. I would make sure my son was set up for life and I would get a new Lexus, mines too small.

If I won the lottery, I cannot say that I would most probably be "happy" as my soul mate and the father of my children would still be gone from this world.  However, I have always thought I would buy a really nice home for each of my three grown children, a home for myself, and we would all live on the same block next door to each other!  I have missed my children so much - they all live in different towns now with their own families and I am afraid I have been more dependent on them than ever with my husband's passing.  Anyways, I feel like that would be a pretty good deal for them, a nice home that they do not have to pay a penny for, they would just have to live in the same town and next door to their mom and sisters!  That reminds me, I forgot to buy any numbers last night.

Love, Cindy

Money can give you the release from pursuing the necessities need to stay alive. No, it can't buy happiness, but it can buy freedom.

It is, however, a great comfort and substitute. :)

With that much money I'd likely buy myself a seat in the senate, perhaps the house of representatives. Then again, I've always wanted to be a general in the army of some banana republic dictator. Hmmm... member of congress, or Fidel Castro's right hand man? Decisions, decisions...

Money would help me out alot.  I can be happy anywhere, in almost any situation anyway, so money would mostly take a ton of pressure off things here.  My husband has the sole burden of providing for us right now, and I'd be thrilled to see that end.  It would be nice not to sweat out how to live until the next check comes...and even nicer if we could actually enjoy life to the fullest by having that unlimited greenback supply.  There's so much I'd do I'll surely not be able to list it all.  I don't think money can buy you happiness, but if you are already, it can go a long way to makin' things even better.  Even if you're not happy already, I think it can help.

Money would just be a means to do extend my happiness by allowing me to do things I've always wanted to do and make me happy because it'd mean my husband could breathe again knowing he didn't have to trek to that place everyday.  We could be free to spend more time together.  That being said, we'd also go solo...I'd be out racing in my kick a$$ muscle car or jumpin' out of planes left and right....He'd be in his Stearman every chance he could get...   ah, I COULD go on......so, who do I have to see for the next winning ticket?

It would change my life in a big way. First I would pay off debts and place plenty into investments. Travel would be a definite. Toys? Well yes. I would hope that I could handle it responsibly. Helping some people along the way, too.

I am FAR from being wealthy! I can totally admit my finances are not good BUT I don't play the lottery for one reason, I do not want that much money. It actually scares the heck out of me. I would like to be comfortable, pay my bills on time, know my kids can go to college, have a "decent" car, nothing brand new, and own my own home, but I do not want to be rich. I do NOT think money buys happiness at all. I think there are tons of stresses that come along with being rich. It is just not a life for me.

Well, I have watched shows on about the "Curse of the Lottery" and alot of those people actually end up getting involved in drugs. It ends up ruining their lives. Of course it would be great to have that security. But (there is always a but) here you are with gazillions of dollars you probably aren't working...got a lot of time on your hands and you have "old friends" "long lost family members" popping up out of no where. You can't trust anybody new in your life b/c they could all be scamming you. That is ALOT of stress so I think there is a greater chance that I would start using than I would really like to admit. However, I just admitted it. LOL In a sense it would be so scary to have all that money but the comfort & security would be nice....I have such a big heart though I would be easily suckered out of it....like the guy in the movie The Jerk. LMAO.... I need new leather seats for private airplane....you know the scene I am talking about?

Whooo... I am talking tonight!

I believe that i could handle the cash influx without any more vices - and i believe that the changes would be positive. Would not in any way get more pills. Money doesnt buy happiness - I am not here because I couldnt afford to be stupid any longer...I just got sick of it. Some changes would occur. These would involve relocating to the seashore and taking good care of family and friends. Top notch health care for family would be important. Not cheap to stay healthy anymore. Nauty - I have already had about all of those vices and I am not about to even think of them again. Like youth, threesomes are wasted on the young......

I'd have to keep working..I couldn't handle doing nothing all day..every day..well..maybe not..I'd have to do something..volunteer work?  Set up a good amout for our kids with stipulations they'd have to meet regarding college, etc...and they wouldn't get it until they
were maybe 30..by then they would have a better understanding of life..Not sure I'd buy them houses, cars and all that stuff..though I'd leave them enough that they could...move south..Georgia, Carolinas, etc..and get a place big enough and private..and get 4 or 5 more golden retrievers..My wife and I would find the fanciest place in the Bahamas of Jamaica and spend a couple weeks..I have a place in mind that costs $300000/week for up to 20 or so people..a private island as it were..wish I could remember the name of the place..take our closest friends and just be treated
to a nice vacation..by chartered plane, of course.

donations to ALS charities, MS Charities, and to the schools in Jamaica and the Bahamas..

Definitely would change my life in a positive way. Would buy a bigger house because I would have many, many more dogs. Would hire a personal trainer to get me in shape. Who wants to be rich and unhealthy. Would make sure all my family is taken care of. Buy all of them hybrid cars.  Definitely would not go back to the pills.

yes i think money helps happiness, you wouldnt have the pressure of how to feed your family or how to make the house payment, it would stop alot of fighting, it would take alot of pressure off so i dont think it would make me want to use more.
I would pay bills off send kids to collage buy ea family member a house and car and my friends too...I would move to the mountains and build a nice log cabin and some toys, boat, new jeep stuff like that,,, i wouldnt go crazy with it tho...then put a nest egg so i wouldnt have to worry about future then i would really give the rest to the needy and to help animals!!
