blood pressure

by lucyred68, Jul 13, 2007 05:10PM
Is it normal for a person's blood pressure to go up when they quit drugs?  my blood pressure pills were working fine till about a week ago, but now it is going up and i have an awful headache.  hope it is not rom the 1 or 2 norco i take for the pain each day.  maybe it's from the pain.  i don't know, but i sure don't like it.

Hey,
Yeah, every time I go c/t my blood pressure shoots sky high and I don't normally have a problem with high blood pressure... the last two times I've checked mine it's been 145/114... then 165/116... two different days.  So I think it may be a withdrawal symptom I'm sure.  Hopefully you'll be doin' better soon.  My thoughts and prayers are with you.  I'm on day 8 today and I'm feelin' a bit anxious but better right now.

Take care and god bless,

Lil.  :)

off methadone and xanax for 1 1/2 months, back on norco, 1 or 2 a day cause the original pain came back with a vengence.  i wait till i can't take any more pain before i take one.  can't take anti-inflamatoies because they give me ulcers.  not even an advil.  also off sleeping pills.

Pain and anxiety can make your BP skyrocket. Mine always went up 20 points when my back hurt the most. Have you gone ct? Are you off everything now?
