butalbital??

Is it addicting? I just noticed my prescription for migraines. Haven't turned it in because I wanted to research it. I've had it for a couple weeks so I need to make a decision about filling it or not...

yes it is Rosy...it's a barbiturate....be very careful if you get it filled....my advice would be not fill it...try something non-addictive first.  :))

Excedrin Migraine works amazing for me. As long as I take it as soon as my headache starts. I had that same prescription before and it made me super tired and I think the Excedrin works better. I wouldn't fill it! Hope your migraines go away, they suck!

I took Treo for my stress headaches and it is indicated actually as a treatment of migraine where other things have failed.....

Have't been able to find an amrican name for it but the active ingredients are acetylsalicylic acid (aspirin) and caffeine

Just a thought

I have taken Imitrex and it is not addictive.  It really works to.  Please don't drive or anything until you know how it affects you.  It is very expensive by the way.

Imitrex will work for me, but I feel like there's a small window of time to take it. It only works for me if I catch the headache early enough. By the time I realize its going to be one of "those" headaches, it's sometimes too late for the imitrex to work. But if you can catch it early enough, it does.
I also like to heat towels or rice packs for my neck and face to help.

Oh, the stress headaches suck! I get them too. Sometimes if you can find a kind soul to give you a really good neck, shoulder, and upper back massage it can help. Also the Chiropractor can really help with this kind of thing. I know money is an issue as well as insurance (I'm in the same boat) but it may be more affordable than you think. Just call around and check. I think with this kind of thing, relaxation techniques, meditation, massage, pretty much the more natural, the better. Hang in there chica!

Be careful with that chica! It is very addictive. It is a barbituate and if you do become dependent or addicted to it, you have to taper slowly off of it. Quitting cold turkey can be dangerous, and possibly cause seizures. Do some research on it before you even consider taking it. (Always a good idea with any drug. Doctors often neglect to tell you about side effects, etc.) Maybe talk to your doctor about an alternate treatment option. There are a TON out there. Good luck to you. Hope you get some relief soon.
