gambling addiction

Do people really take gambling as an addiction?

Very much so. It is a disease. Much like being addicted to drugs, I have seen people lose EVERYTHING... It is a difficult disease for people to overcome.

Yes it is .. just as bad as cocaine addiction .. seen if first hand w/a few family members ... lost everything!!!  My aunt's house wz foreclosed because of it. Never had enough money to pay bills and eat but boy o boy they always had money to gamble .. such a waste .. i won't gamble for two reasons, no need to, don't really find it all that exciting.  2nd - watched my family go thru hell because of my dads problem ..

do you think it is an addiction? if not, why? just curious .. ;p)

Hi Hun. I am sorry to hear that. Would you like to talk about it? Elaborate? Although this site deals primarily with drug addiction, there are people here who are duel addicted and I am fairly certain someone can help you. My grandfather was a gambler. I have some family experience with it.

My mom and sister have problems too and i never could understand how they could just waste money like that. Then one day i have a 1 year old and a new born and my sister comes in and say i just one at the machines and let me watch the kids and you try. Well, i won a large sum of money and have never stoped. It is destroying everything. I have had a lot of bad stuff happen to me and this is what i thought helps me well, it is not. I am going to try harder than i have ever tried before to not go. I use to do drugs and drink a lot like every day and then i was attacked by a man who had killed 5 women (that they know, they think he killed more) after my attack so, i just quit everything so i could protect my-self and that was easy and now i can't stop gambling. I just have trouble with the fact that i can't beat it.
