hydrocodone taper&withdrawal symptoms

ive been taking hydrocodone for 3 yrs due to auto accident.  first 7.5s then 10s now i see a pain management dr and get 30 mg hydro/200 tylenol time release - i take 3-5 daily supposed to take 3 i usually run out at least a little early, i have for the whole three yrs!  Soooo i usually have some wd's every month.  this time i tapered starting last wednesday, 2 few days, then 1 1/2 for a few days, then 1 for a few days, then 3/4 for a few days, then 1/2 for two days, this is my first day with NOTHING!!  i feel generally crappy, flu like, no energy, feeling lazy, runny eyes, nose, acheyness (sp), sweating my butt off!, then cold, does anyone have any idea how long this will last?  Ive been thru worst wd but not for this long.  its less sever since i tapered, but i want to feel better, how long do you think im gonna be feeling like a pile of poo???!!!

Hey there....I feel your pain. I too am a Norco (hydrocodone) user. I have taken it for several years.  I am one who runs out too quick and suffers WDs.  It sucks so bad to feel  so "helpless" when you don't have any. Just remember that old addict saying "day by day". Don't think of it as you are doomed forever. Think of getting through each day, each hour.....try to sleep as much as you can (use some kind of sleep aid). Also take vitamins (B6, to be exact). Hot showers feel great too. I hate how it consumes your thoughts and your mind can't quit thinking about having a pill. Remember that I feel your pain. Nothing anyone can say can take away the feelings you feel, but hopefully, with this support and some friendly advice, we can try to help each other get through the dark times and to the light again.  I will keep in touch. hang in there......

thank you for your replys and encourangment.  i really feel lousy today.  i have no energy -  i feel like im climbing up a mountain and i dont have the energy to go on.

I was taking vicodan 10/325 for a year, almost up to 15 a day.. Well I've been clean for over a month.  The first week was HELL.  See if you can get to a doc who can give you klonopin or clonodine to help with the withdrawals.  Trust me you will feel better - its takes time, and each day is a fight!

hey there ... good for you for wanting to get off those pills .. they are a pain in the butt to get off but your life will be so much for fulfilling .. you're probably going to feel bad for about a week ... while tapering you're still gonna get the symptoms of the w/d's but it shouldn't be AS bad as going c/t .. i'm thinking you tapered too quickly for how long you've been taking them ... as far as what 'gystgariausmc' said, his last post said he was going c/t from xanax which could be deadly, can cause seizures and other health problems .. he should def do a very slow taper ... i hope that helped some .. i'm sure others will also respond to your post too .. good luck to you and getting yourself clean .. take care too!!!! peace~

i have no idea with that drug , but the symptoms you have are the SAME that im having now , and im cold turkey xanax and trust me ALL the symptoms you have now I HAVE THEM so you are not alone im in my 3 day of cold turkey
