lortab

i know that codeine withdrawal causes aching and throbbing legs, but what about shoulders, elbows, and wrists?  i ache all over; ive been diagnosed with fibromyalgia by rheutmatologist, but i wonder if my overall aching is the fibro or wanting more lortabs.  i take 30 mg total daily, after reading some of the forum notes, this is a small amount ....im assuming.  could it be a combo of both and does anyone suffer from the arm aching problem?

welcome to the forum.

you could take something with ibruprophen rather than acimetophin. you are making a wise choice to cut down on the pills before you get really addicted to them. i feel for your pain and know it is hard to not take more when hurting.

God Bless,
tim

i can't believe i am down to 3 10's a day. if would like to take a handful cuz i ache soooooo bad all over.  i no that i will stay with 30mgs a day till next wed....if i can stand it.....then i will go to only 20mg a day.   do ya think advil or alleve is ok inbetween?  i know kidneys and liver are in jeopardy, but i cant go around in this fibromyalgia/lortab fog.  i want to get back to my former self. i want to feel comfortable drinking a few beers or drinks without worrying bout liver damage AND feeling crappy all nite!

I did mis read your post I apologize... my eyes are failing me tonight... Yes 30mgs is a small average normal amount.. coming off of it though is enough to produce some serious aches.. especially if you have had any kind of chronic pain in the past.. The lack of pills in your brain will produce a stronger feeling of pain since your natural "pain releivers" have been not used for so long..

i do not mean 30 pillls a day !   30 mg is 3 pills a day.  morning , noon, and late afternoon.  i think that is  small amount after reading some of these comments.

it's been about a year that ive taken 3 10's a day.  altho in feb when i had knee replcmt, it doubled for about 2 months.  ive weaned myself back to 30 mg's daily, but i am aching and my muscles feel on fire.  im feeling more and more (after reading this forum) that it IS w/d and maybe just a little fibro and arthritis playing in.  agh.....after reading bout people taking 100 mgs daily, i can't believe that i could complain with my dosage.  but it's real to me and it's miserable. i cant imagine what it would be like to be in w/d from really hi dosages.  i really get angry with drs prescribing these meds. my rheumatologist gives me 180 pills at a time!!!  he is assuming i take 6 a day (which i used to).  it's crazy that they do that....im just happy im aware of the catch 22 of it all.

30mgs a day of loritab is NOT a small amount at all.. I would assume the normal dose is 1-2 every 4-6 hours.. which would be 8-10 tops...

it's hard to say.... i don't know how long you have been on - or off - the pills.  are you still taking them?  if so, then the aches and pains we discuss here are generally w/d symptoms that occur after one stops taking narcotics. so it's not the same thing..

if you did stop and are still in the beginnings of w/d's, i think any aches and pains are possible.  if you just quit, i would wait a few weeks and see what happens.  if it continues, i think you would then really need to discuss this with your doc...

i hope this helped somewhat...
good luck,
mj
