question about Lorazapam

Question

I have a script ready for me to pick up for Lorazapam. I know it is for anxiety, does anyone know if this might help me?

Hey girlie, yes shelby is right, lorazapam is ativan and aprazolam is xanax.  Like you, Xanax didn't do anything for me either other than make me even more anxious.  I'm takin a couple of ativan every 2 days and my pills are .05.  Just one makes me tired but I still feel anxious a little.  I definitely get sleep with them though.  Too much if you ask me lol... i sleep during the day with them if i take them during the day.  I hope they do you some good though.  Good luck, I'm on day 3 and feelin' really shitty right now.  I can't sleep... i'm tryin' not to take an ativan cuz i took two during the day today. ughhh!! wish i hadn't now!!!

My grandma took em for forty years, the w/d worse then vicodin, but if you only take about five a month, for pms, say for instance, it is cool.  great for alcoholics who are trying to get on the wagon.  Hope it helps.

I'm hanging in there...today is day 4.  I tried to detox in May with Valium.  I took all the in one day and was right back on opiates the next day.  I believe I have to feel my pain of withdrawals in order to overcome the addiction.

Tomorrow I go back to work as I used all my sick time up when I was looking for pills.  

I have an appt for Tuesday for some sup. and I am very leary of that so I have ben reading alot of comments from people who have gone that route.

Just wanted to see how you were doing?

We know the dangers of Benzo's - unfortunately our dear Todd is having a rough time with them.  Hope has been having a very difficult time with the hydro's though and I just want her to be ok.  Xanax really helped me a few times - just can't take it everyday.

Just be careful since Benzo's are quite addicting themselves.  They have a very long half life and one pill shows up in you urine for up to 2 weeks.  That is why they are so addicting.  

I have to stay away from them because I have a very addictive personality and can not switch addictions one more time.  There is not a drug out there that I haven't at least tried, opiates being my best friend and worse enemy.

I know alot about drugs as I work in that field, how ironic...I counsel other addicts but failed to help myself.

Alprazolam is xanax.  .5 is a very small dose.  They make up to I think 2 or 3 mg's.  I would take 1 mg of alprazolam if I really needed it - some people take a lot more.  Start with 1 mg of the Ativan and see how you feel...I would wait at least a half hour.  We want to try to keep you on the least possible amount.

Ok - i know i just asked you about this Ativan, and i am going to go get it to try. 

But do you know if it is the same thing as Aprazalam? I used to take that, but it did nothing for me.

Granted it was only .05 mg

This Ativan (Lorazepam) is 1 mg.

So do you know if they are the same medicines?

First let me say that Benzo's are addicting and can be dangerous.  That being said I think it will help you - a lot!  It is part of the Thomas Recipe too.  Please just be very careful - take them only when you absolutely have to.  Ask Todd - they are more of a pain to get off of then hydro's.  A few days should not hurt you though.  It will put your mind at ease too.

Ok honey I will see you at Tim's - I do not think he knows we are invading yet - so keep it hush, hush.  I have a new two piece I am dying to wear anyway! :)

Ok on my way.....(I wish)

I was just looking this pill up and it says it is a generic name for Ativan...It is in the Benzos family...supposed to help with anxiety, think i should try it?

What is lorazepam?
Lorazepam is in a group of drugs called benzodiazepines (ben-zoe-dye-AZE-eh-peens). Lorazepam affects chemicals in the brain that may become unbalanced and cause anxiety.

Lorazepam is used to treat anxiety disorders.

Well honey I took Xanax and it did help me - I am not sure if there are in the same drug family or not?

By the way - I have decided that we should all go and hang out at Tim's pool.  I am assuming you will be there? :)
