rapid detox is a way to quickly rid the body of opiates. Once you wake up from the procedure, your body is cleansed of opiates and you've basically slept through the physical withdrawal.
When considering rapid detox, one should be careful. Some facilities have recently come under fire due to lack of regulation and putting patients under unnecessary risk.
One of the safest rapid detox providers is the Waismann Method in california. They are more costly than, but that is the price of good medicine. They only perform in a full service hospital and use sedation NOT anesthesia, which are just some examples of their rigorous safety protocol. They can also boast high success rates after a 1 year period.
I was on Norco for over a year an half and in later stages I was put Oxicot.. for lower back injury and sever muscles spasms. I am afraid that there is no way out of addiction unless you decide that you had enough. There is no easy way out!!!! I know this for fact because I have gone through the hell of addiction and additional hell of coming out of it. It has been 11 months since I flushed the pills down the toillette and I haven't realized how strong I am until I have went through those tough times without the help of anyone or even NA. We all have such incredible powers inside of us but we have to have faith in them and take charge of our lives. I hope I am not being insensitive here to your suffering; I know what you are going through. I have been there and I suffered like a wounded dog with no one to care. The only thing that really got me through it was a faint voice in my core telling me I can do it, prayers, even though I am not so religious, and taking one minute at the time. I used to watch the clock hands and wishing them to move a bit faster. I know deep in my heart that there will be a time when the suffering will end and I was waiting and anticipating such a moment with every cell in me. Every day, I thought it was a day less of suffering and I felt closer to where I wanted to go. Baby steps; this was how I got through the worst times of my life to come of the addiction. And, I did it all by myself and now no one... no one... is able to believe that I succeeded. One of the hardest things in quitting drugs is that those around you don't trust you or your ability to go through it. I wish I could have a simple recipe for you and I am afraid that you will have to suffer even more to reach the safe haven you dream of. But not for so long, believe me; it takes few weeks (it depends on one person or the other) and you will be FREE!! Just think of this moment and trust me; there is a way out!! There is a way out!!! Just believe in YOU!!
P.S. I fully agree with Savas in regard to Methadone and the like, they are as addictive as pain killer. Just look at where Anna Nicole Smith and her son ended up (God bless their souls)!! I tried clonidine but just for few days. It got me through the worst of the physical side effect but after that I was tired of the word 'Pills" and decided to blindly go through it with courage I never thought I could ever have.
much love

I get the impression your approach is wrong. These drugs will not "cure" your addiction. They are substitute opiates, and equally addictive. The most they're good for is helping to get control of your life back and giving you time to "Plan" out how to do your detox.
The only detox I've heard of that "works" in short terms is an anesthesia detox, but it has questionable results at times, and is VERY expensive. We use the clonidine approach around here, it's cheap and if you do it right, it can work.
By the way, methadone is VERY addictive, more so than the other opiates. I'd stop taking it if I were you. The withdrawals and PAWS go on for wekks, years...
maybe you werent on suboxone long enough to actually heal...and did you participate in any type of counseling? i have been on it for 5 months now...some people do better with long term maintainence...?
