I was out of town for 5 days...
I have tried other meds for the headaches with not a lot of help. They are from a condition called TOS which is like a birth defect of the way my upper chest wall is formed. I've been in pain all my life but until just a year ago found this medicine that has allowed me to work and play but at a cost. So after the baby is born I'll have to figure something else out or go back to a life of constant pain. I'm still working with my doctors to find a solution. They are great and stand by me 100%. There is something to be said for surrounding yourself with people who care and who look out for your very best. They all told me that this would happen if I chose to use the Fioricet everyday but I wanted to live my life, so here I am. It's getting easier, the lows aren't as low. The anxiety is the very hardest part with the pain in my head and neck a very close second. I'm in physical therapy every week to help with the pain now and I'll continue to do that until the birth then I'm not sure. It only helps the pain for an hour afterwards but it's worth it. I'm now down to 2.5 fioricet per day, I skipped a bit because I had the stregth to this weekend. I have to be careful, according to the docs, because of tapering too quickly. They said it could cause me to miscarry. Do you have any suggestions for headache/TOS pain that maybe I don't know about?
It will be over!!! and by the way.... you are a good driver :) Keep it up. Did you try other meds for the headache?
I've been fighting for 3 weeks. I'm down from 8/day to 3 1/2. It's a struggle but I'm determined and luckily I don't crave any high. I just wish I could get rid of my headache but I need to do this because I'm 7 weeks pregnant. yikes! I have faith and confidence in my personal strength and know that I'm in the driver seat.
I can't wait until this is part is over....
Technically, i believe not ( maybe others disagree with me). Be strong, fight the pain. Control it, don't let it control you :)
Take some B12 vitamins.
Keep us posted. We are all here for you.
Thank you for letting me know. This will help me plan so my little girl is taken care of and doesn't have to have mommy be sick around her. So for the last 3 days of this taper I'll be taking 1/4 of the fioricet, when I go to zero do you think I'll hae problems?
Ok... Fioricet with Codeine contains 30 mg of codeine per tablet and 50 mg of butalbital. Both substances are addictive, however, the butalbital is not a narcotic, therefore the withdrawls symptoms might be different than the codeine.
If you are tapering and you end up taking about half a tablet per day for a while, your withdrawls might be very mild. Maybe 2 to 3 days. Symptoms? Runny nose, body ache, back ache, hot and cold flashes, sweating.....
Please note that W/D symptoms might be different from one person to another, but they look like flu symptoms. So flu would be a good mask if you have family around and can't tell them.
I hope this helps
It's fioricet with codeine...
I used Fioricet before to treat headaches, however i never abused it or took it more than 2 days in a row.... I actually took a tablet ( without Codeine) yesterday because i had a major headache...and today im not feeling any withdrawls from my Vicodin addiction....hmmm..it doesnt make sense....Fioricet is not a nar or a narc like ( tramadol) ....Im gonna re-think what i have done yesterday cause today i feel extremely normal. Today is day 3 for me and it shouldnt be that easy. Oh well...i either found a new withdrawls med or im back to ground 0. Il find out if few hours.
Hello there, is it Fioricet with Codeine or without codeine?
