Hi there and welcome,

My best advice is to wean off of them slowly.  They say 10% a week is a good taper.  Also, while you are doing it, try something called the Thomas Recipe.  Google and it will come up.  It is a mixture of vitamins and a few other things that help with withdrawal symptom's.  Also, something else that will help your chances of succeeding with a taper, is if you have someone else to hold your pills for you and they stick to a schedule.  It is good you caught yourself now, once you are off the pills entirely, I cannot urge you enough to go to NA meetings or therapy with an addiction specialist.  I have tried a hundred times to quit and now finally because of the outside help I am receiving, I am slowly getting my life back.  I have abused for over 11 years now (Vic's, Soma, Xanax).  Stop it now, please do not waste a decade of your life like I did.  It is something you can never get back.  Now I am 36 days clean and happier then I have ever been.  I appreciate things so much more.  Remember you do not have to go through this alone!

hugs,

shel
