today is day 50 without Tramadol (or anything)..I don't remember the exact date but it was around the end of July.  Still feeling great, glad to be off those things and now can't wait until Sunday the 19th when I go to Atlanta for a week to spend with my grandchildren (and son/DIL of course).

My son's not telling my grandaughter I'm coming...only that "somebody's coming to visit next week"  "is it grandpa?"
"no"  and she got real disappointed.

Thank you Becca....all I need to hear is my grandaughter's voice on the phone "Hi Grandpa!' or "I love you Grandpa" and I become a bowl of jello...and my grandson manages to get out something sounding like "I love you grandpa!"

Hi Jim this whole thread just made my heart swell with happiness you sound really centered and Sara I am gonna tell you are a softie. On the subject of worms my sons and nephews and I see who can swollow the bigest one without gagging I know your thinking gross but you don't taste them or feel them unlike swollowing live gold feeder fish.

:-)   Zander is such a boy, I'm sure he's got rocks and worms and all sorts of stuff in his pockets..reminds me of his dad when I hear stories or see pictures.

Your grandson will know who you are.  Ahhh those hugs are priceless.....they take away all the stress's of life dont they!!   You will get lessons on life from those babies....you will look at worms in a different light along with other bugs!!  I remember one time when my grandson was here and i washed his clothes.  He had a worm in his pocket and i was accused of killing it!!  He also was bringing in spiders from the outside as it was too warm for them!!   I think that falls under the catch and release program!!  

I am right there with you crying!!    Doesnt take much anymore!!

I am..have been for a while...it's been tough for me to get down there recently and the last time I was there was when my son died...I talk to them all the time, but I can't wait for that big hug from my grandaughter..my grandson (2.5) probably doesn't rememember me :-(

Everywhere we went last time my grandaughter would tell everybody "That's my grandpa!"...when I had to leave and come home and they dropped me off I sat in front of the airport terminal in tears :-(
