Yea really thats where the term red neck was frist used. There was a big fire fight in the mountains here the battle of droop mt. the Gov. called in the N/gaurd and they even had planes that flew over and droped bombs on the miners. There was a march that started in Charleston WV and as it went they picked up more and more pro union miners and they all would wear the red handkechife around thier necks, it was a 50 mile march. That ended in the big shoot out. Its pretty cool to read up on it.

I play golf on occasion but have never chased the cart girls!!!!!  Wonder if it would help!!!!!!  LOL

I love golf the whole being outdoors and walking. The courses are usually very pretty and there are birds and fish and in some states alligators walking around. The game itself is challenging. Every course is different and there is always room for improvement. Now as for a workout. The walking equals 10,000 steps so that is good the cart makes it easy but I think it's more being outside and being social. You have the hardcore people trying very hard to improve and the others who drink and just hit the ball either way it's better then sitting on the couch.

heh heh... I grew up playing it; golf is technically a minimalist sport and is very mental.

True, I also liked driving those little carts as well, but did make a point of walking for the sake of exercise.

When I was 14 I got into a cart race with a friend and we ended up flipping one of them... which led to me being banned from cart use and getting lots of exercise while walking if i wanted to play. :-)

I have never played golf, but do think it would take a lot of skill to be good. Now for the ones who just play so they can chase the girls and get drunk thats a horse of a different color. Give me football, cheerleaders,  or a soft ball game. Or just listening to the hounds run at night while I sit at the fire. Yea Im a used to be long haired country boy, dont have enough hair now to get long. And a RED NECK  NOW A History lesson anyone out there know the TRUE meaning of where the term RED NECK came from?? It came from the hills of coal mine country, during the coal wars in WV ie Matwan and so on. Speedo's and golf. What a mental immage!  I always thought that golf was fun...a few times a year. I couldnt even begin to get as far into it as some friends of mine. I consider it to be in the same league as air guitar.
