? About cough med's

I went to the Doc. for a cold and cough yesterday. He gave me antibiotics and cough meds. The cough meds have codine. My ? is can I take the cough med. I have been clean from hydro. for 108 DAYS after taking 10 to 14, 7.5s a day for three year,s. it was the hardest time of my life, but to anyone out there IT CAN BE DONE...........Please help I need feedback.

PLease don't take the cough medicine....I was also addicted to hydro's and loved the cough syrup!!!  it would be a relapse..
try OTC ones....

I have to agree. Codeine being an opiate could send you over the top and start using again. Is it worth the risk? There are some good otc that help. I like the ones with expectorant.

Thank you for the advice, Only A person who has gone threw the addiction knows the hell I went threw. And I have tryed OTC,s they just didn't seem to work. Try deslym s/p??   that is a very good one OTC....I know how tough this can be when the cough just doesn't want to stop....But you are doing the right thing, you have way too many days to set your brain back,

One tsp. and before you know it.......you WiLL most likely be doing shots.  Not worth the risk if you ask me.
