I have never seen a doctor here accept insurance for sub..even if u find one on ur insurance they usually do sub on a cash only basis...The money is often their reason for taking the course..the medication may be covered by ur insurance tho...and I am sure someone may take insurance just no one i have talked with had the visits covered oon their insurance..
I am also from Pgh. and had Gateway insurance. There is a pain clinic in Bloomfield on Liberty Ave. that will take you, sorry don't have the exact address or phone #, but I was there last year. Just make sure you are there on time and are in moderate withdrawal! I kept coming late and wasn't sick enough so they couldn't help me!
Your best bet is to just keep calling Suboxone docs, and see if they take your insurance. If you have no luck with that, try calling your health insurance hotline and ask if they can do a cross reference for providers who are Suboxone docs. I was lucky because I found my Suboxone doc first, before I had insurance, and then when it was time to choose my provider through work all I had to do was ask my doc what she accepted. You really just have to keep calling around until you find one. Best of luck!
Try this site....copy and paste. You'll find Dr.s in your area to call and ask.
