hydro alcohol, dying

by britt459, Jul 02, 2009 02:44PM
I feel as though I am dying, I want to die, I am hurting everyone by waking up everyday, yes 24 days off hydro, drinking more than ever though. I do not have the will to do anything. I want to die and I think everyone I love would be better off if I did

It breaks my heart to hear you say those things. You are loved, whether you know it or not.  Yeah for you on the 24 hours off the hyrdros. Things will get better. People here care about you as a fellow addict and friend.
God bless you.

If I was w/ding from opes and drinking my face off (tried it once, and it will make you think dark thoughts), I'd be thinking along the lines of your post.

If you can't cut back on the booze, you better get to a hospital and tell them you're suicidal -- they can't turn you away if they really think you're serious.

It *****, but so does making a fatal decision when you're not capable of making decisions.

I have been reading this forum for weeks now.. I just read and never respond.. Until now.. I was addicted to pain pills for 15 years. It started with Tylenol 3, then Tylenol 4, then Vicodin became my DOC for years.. I quit c/t 35 days ago. It was the hardest thing I EVER did.  The W/D were pure hell.. But now, I think clearer than I have in 15 years, it turns out it was the best choice I ever made.. I'm definantly NO expert but I have been there and went through it. This forum has helped me sooooooo much, I read it several times a day and it reminds me that I'm not the only one that has been through this. These people on here are just wonderful and I thank them all for their constant support. Just PLEASE hang in there, things WILL get better..

please just try to remember that you wont always feel this way and that there is so much happiness ahead of you you just can't see it right now. I've had the same kinds of feelings in my last two weeks of withdrawl and everytime i do I just pray that the feelings go away and remember that I have to be strong. Is there someone close to you you can talk to?

hi. sounds like you may be trading one addiction for another, which is what i did more than once. alcohol is a cns depressant that will only prolong the misery. with opiates, the withdrawal will make wish you were dead, but alcohol detox can kill you. as stated above, you might really want to go to a treatment center or other hospital to be medically detoxed. suicide is a permanent solution to a temporary problem. it will get better if you can just hang on and do the next right thing. best wishes,  gm

Hi Britt:
Booze can cause major depression, especially the day after a few, throw a little PMS in there with a hangover and it could be the worst day ever.  All of us addicts need to be cautious when it comes to switching addictions. Good luck to you.
Donewithpills: thanks for speaking up. Great words of encouragement in your post. I am about to quit my pill popping habit and your post was helpful to me.
Thanks

Some things are worth quitting.  Drugs and alcohol are two of them. They do cause depression.  They medicate our brains and bodys and turn us into someone we don't want to be.  There is a good life after you quit them,  it is a good, productive life.  The ones we love are worth quitting for, they deserve to have a whole person in their lives.  If you take it away from them by taking your life then you leave them only pain.  They are worth staying and fighting for.  Please take the chance to go get clean and be there for them.  Your family loves you.
Best wishes to you
Ella
