10 plus years been taking 10/325 hydrocodone

I am big guy bad back damn 3 motorcycle wrecks etc.
I'm on day 2 of  a 10 a day regimen. Feel horrible
I hate this crap but hard to move without my meds.
Been saying forever I want to quit but get sucked back in every month.
I even had some valiums to curb this rotten feeling.
This is prescribed to me but my mind seems to be unclear a lot.
I almost feel like a junkie waiting for my scrip every month  
It's not like I sell things to buy this crap it's paid with insurance along with high blood pressure meds etc   This is insane the feeling is I want to go shoot up a big shot of street dope to stop this agony.  10. Years 10 pills a day. Do I need help or can I do this on my own I'm 50 raised 6 healthy kids not dope addicts like me. Well that's how I feel.  I can't sleep I'm fatigued  I'm irritated.  I'm craving more crap.  I have 3 blown disks and it helps but isn't there something else to ease my pain without this horrible addiction.
How long will this last and do I need help or can I make it.  Thanks to anyone who here's this Peace

My sister doesn't know but has always thought I had a chemical imbalance

I'm 6.5  I have mega pain somedays but I also read and it says it can stop working and now it does not work as well  I refused to go to oxy because I heard it can be even worse   I keep my meds locked in a safe but then realize
Is it me being safe or guarding them I will work on a bigger plan to end this. Thank you all for thoughts on such a hideous hidden little pill. BIG SKY MONTANA

Good morning Montana. The two above posters pretty much covered it.
      Who else supports you & your plan to quit pain pills?  The things I'll tell you, it's harder for some initially. Then it gets harder for some people later on with out the drug.  Make a Battle plan. Get a General. Seek out your enemy.
  Come up with a first 100 day plan. Get an alternate pain control in place.
The withdrawal will mix the pain signals. You may feel much less or more depending on the receptors in your brain.
  I like the way you are beginning to feel disgusted. Call upon your Inner Man.
  The man in you who is angry, & feels this rage. You'll need this not to wimp out.     There are 100's of people whom you can write to on this site, who
successfully made it through the tunnel. They are pill free.  Pamela

Debbie is right.  Until you open up to your dr you will likely continue to wait for that next script because you are getting them legally.  I have a friend that was prescribed 4 a day 2 mg Xanax because he had horrible anxiety.  After years of this he was diagnosed with adhd and the medicine they put him on alleviated most of his anxiety but he has yet to tell the dr that he is ready to start lowering his dose.  He just takes a bunch of them when he gets them until they are all gone and then does it the next month.
Most people do not put a lot of faith in alternative medicine but there is a lot to be said about positive thinking, support, and faith along with non-narcotic pain meds to take the edge off.  My brother has no cartilage in his knees and he is a heavy man.  He tells me that since he came off the pain meds he still has pretty bad pain but he has gotten so use to it that he is able to get around without it bothering him.  I hope you can do this and I am proud to see that you are at least entertaining the idea of a life without them.

That you are addicted and have him cut off your scripts.

Are you getting relief from your pain with the hydros?
The pain actually increases on the opiates. It is called hyperalgesia.
They change your brain chemistry and your body craves more opiates.
When you quit and are clean for about two months the brain starts to heal.
Your pain will lessen.

Yes there are alternate methods of pain management. Physical therapy,
Acupuncture, chiropractor, massage, injections, tens unit, hydrotherapy,
Exercise regiment.
Counseling, support groups, church to help prevent relapse.
There is always hope,
