13 days off tramadol and still...

Short story...

I took my first pill in 2004 and soon developed a serious habit.

13 days and some odd hours ago I stopped. I went through hell and still continue to. I am finally able to sleep through the night but I have zero energy all day. Honestly, I just whisper to myself all day how much I depise this life.

I really DO want to stay positive. It just seems impossible going through this AND having children, job, etc.

Does it 'usually' take this long for things to right themselves in the body?

Yes, yes, yes......try the supplements!  Lots of Super B Complex and some little bit of exercise.  Just have to make yourself!  I know it's hard just to walk across the floor, but you HAVE to make yourself do it.  Eat and drink plenty of fluids.  Glad you're sleeping.  Lots of people do not for a while!

Keep posting ok?  You can do this!  : )

Hang in there... you CAN do this.  Thing about how long you were addicted, and how short of a time compared to that it has been that you've been off now... we all want a quick fix but unfortunetly it's just not always going to happen that way.  Your liver and kidney function are seriously damaged and it will take some time for you to function normally.

I'm with ImDONENoMore - try some supplements.  Multi-vitamins, vitaminC, L-glutamine, L-taurine - all that will help with energy.

Good luck and keep us posted.  You CAN do this!!!

Oh my - I'm so sorry you're struggling.  I know how hard this is.

But if it makes you feel any better - yes, it's all normal.  It takes a while for your body to heal, so give it time (I know, easier said than done) - but it will get better as you move forward.  As long as you stay off the tramadol, you're healing.  And sometimes healing hurts.  But it will get better.

Have you tried any of the vitamins/supplements suggested here?  They were a g-dsend for me when I quit the tramadol they might be for you too - definitely worth a shot.

Good luck to you - and hang in - you'll get there.  :)
