Ive been clean for two weeks now. My question is, however, is it ok to take xanex to calm me down at night? I take a ladder per night. No opiates though. Input anyone?

Hyland's Calms Forte' is all natural and I had very good luck with it when going through the WDs.

I would avoid all chemical meds. possible. St. Johns' Wart helped me a lot. I found that whatever I used, I built a tolerance after one dose, so I switched it up. Valerian root is similar in chemical makeup to Valium, but not so addictive. If you want your brain to act natural, stopping all chemicals works best. The grumpy, angry cardio is awesome for healing. Just give it some more time.

I will say I've started exercising nonstop throughout the day. The grumpiest angriest cardio of my life lol

I'm sorry, I'm just thinking lesser of two evils. I was spending $200 per day on hydrocodone and oxycodone off the streets for five years. My bank account stayed overdrafted.

I assume by a "ladder" you mean 2mg of xanax. You are going to have to taper that per my G.P. cut to 1MG for a month or so then cold turkey off them. Benzos can cause life threatening problems in Withdrawal so my G.P. was very concerned about how much I actually took. If you are not currently taking xanax, DON'T START. Use valarian, melatonin, chamomile, lavender etc to help with the restlessness.

I take zoloft and chlordiazepoxide and its seems to calm me down when I'm really agitated. It doesnt seem to be addictive either. I only take it when I feel myself getting into an axiety or OCD state.

No aftercare. I've been that route. Didn't work. I'll try the valerian root.

There are other ways to deal with anxiety than taking meds.  Check into it.  Are you doing anything with aftercare?

I do not have a lot of experience with Xanax, but a friend told me that they were much much harder to quit then opiates.  Also if you take them too long you cannot quit CT, as you can have seizures.

You have made it two weeks, don't rely on something else that is going to become another monster on your back.  Have you tried Valerian Root or 5HTP?  I never had anxiety before WD and this has helped me when it crops up at night.

Thought I would also throw in there, I had to quit my job and relocate 500 miles just to obtain 2 weeks of sobriety.
