2 weeks norco cold turkey HELP!

I quit Norco cold turkey 2 weeks ago. Most of the physical symptoms are gone except for the Diarrhea and anxiety. When will the Anxiety and weird mentally cloudy feeling go away? Will it go away by week 3? I have been taking 1 to 2 10/325 norco a day for about 3 years. Please get back to me. I figured if I made it this far cold turkey
(2 weeks) it should almost be over with, rite? I hope.

It is one of the most under estimated things about withdrawl is the time it takes to withdrawl. Their is acute which can last month, 7 to 10 days is sorta all ********.

Then you will have post asute withdraw symptoms, which include short term memory and a host of cognitive problems including low energy and motivation. To get the feeling you are looking for which is clear headed where the bird chirps are crystal sharp and clear in the morning you will need to be patience. Everyday will be better and there will be some bad days in between. That will get better longer in time between good and bad and you will have mostly good. Take about 6 or 8 imodium for the number 2 symptoms and it also has a opiate in it which will slighly help your pains. It will not ruin your taper. Use it once in a while as needed. Take aleeve, aspirin, gooodies powders what ever works for your daily aches and pains. It is a matter of expectations and they never seem to tell you it will take time. So people give up because they do not feel better. Look at 6 months to a year and you will slowly get too fantastic feelings everyday. Patience is the key and reduce stress levels. Get anti anxiety medicine!!!!

The process can be frustrating and w/d symptoms come and go...I still have some (sweating, slight anxiety, mental fogginess...and major sleep deprivation) But I was on a different drug than you and have other chronic pain and illness issues that come into play...Remember it's a journey-and believe it or not I look back on my first days of detox with fondness-I was tested mentally/physically/spiritually but I kept positive and strong (with the help of this awesome forum and my family and friends) and I feel better and better with each passing day.  I find myself giggling and smiling all the time for no reason even though I'm weary...I remember when I was where you are at I was so impatient to feel "normal".  Now I realize I didn't even know what 'normal' was.  It gets so much better every day it's like having a brand new life....For me-the difference between now and a month ago on opiates is no contest.  I came on here worrying about every physical symptom I was having and the lovely folks here told me it was normal and gave me tips to help.  Listen to music...sing....baths...walk outside in the rain (been doing a lot of that)...watch a great movie...stay occupied and try not to focus on what is going to come next.  Great advice that-so I just passed it on.  Also-if you have access to a sauna (heat not steam) it really speeds up the detoxifying process...Just watch that BP.  Wishing you a peaceful, restful night....Lu

I just took them for a surgery then continued because they made me feel good. The last year was everyday the previous 2 years were 2-3 times a week. I been really irritable today haven't felt that yet really. Well as long as its not permanent and ill normalize,I feel good. I guess everyday that passes it will get better and better. It's weird on the mind. And as relapse goes nope I'm scared of the stuff. Never want it again. Makes me sick thinking about it there are none in my house. I'm in this for real. The mental stuff all the stuff I mentioned above is the hardest for me. Thanks again my friend, like I said your helping me a lot. I'm gonna take a deep breath and go take a bath to relieve some anxiety and irritability. I'll talk to ya soon. Your my rock!

hun you are doing great. congrats on your 2 clean weeks.
yes everything you are still feeling is absolutely normal.
the little bit you took didnt matter. your body is still detoxing.
the acute physical symptoms chills, sweating, intense diarrhea, vomiting, nausea, pain ,irritability, rls, headaches, sleep issues.
usually are very intense for 3-5 days. then they begin to subside.
anyone of these symptoms can come and go for another few weeks.
they will become less and less frequent as time goes on.
you will start to have more and more good days. the good will start to outweigh the bad.

you took norco for 3 years.two weeks is definitely not enough time for all the healing to take place. please try to be patient. remember it will take time to heal emotionally, mentally, physically, spiritually.
continue to take vitamins, exercise, hydrate, proper nutrition. think positive.
you are healing moment by moment. just take it one step at a time,

do you think you are depend or addicted? did you run out of pills early? did you take the pills for physical pain or emotional pain? did you take them to get a buzz?
if you are addicted please seek out counseling and a support group such as na or aa. relapse is very real. you will need to guard your clean time.
continue to post. we are always here.

hugs and hope.

Everything you are feeling is normal-at least it was for me...And yes the good does start to outweigh the bad as time passes.  I know it can be scary and frustrating-but please focus on the good.  I started having the exact headache you're talking about at about 10-12 days.  I still get it briefly in the evening.  I am feeling really good-just tired as sleep has not returned to me yet.  Regardless of how rough my detox was or how tired I am-I still feel a million times better than I did on the drugs.  I would get your bp checked though.  I bought one at the pharmacy for 40$ and keep an eye out (I have low BP)  Just take time to treat yourself gently and be proud of how far you've come.  It takes awhile to 'normalize'-but you'll be so glad you did....Exercise and vitamins are really important for clearing that mental cloudiness you are talking about....Hang in you're doing great....Lu

Oh calculated wrong this Tuesday would be 2 weeks, the tuesday the 20th  I had a powdered half of a half, barely any at all of a norco to try and take the edge off the w/d but didn't work. So the last time I technically had any was was the 20th. Thursday the 15th is when I stopped c/t. So am I techniclly into my withdrawl from the 15th or 20th since I tried to take a small small amount to take the edge off. Did that little bit even matter to my system? Or withdrawl wise am I 2weeks now? Sorry for multiple posts lol just this helps me cope better, you help alot with your advice and getting me thru this. Thank you very very much

Also I'm starting to get sharp pains maybe a headache on left side of head above ear. But they are quick pinches that's it,nothing unbearable just raises my eyebrows a bit is that normal also? Man I can't wait for the twinges of depersonalization, mental cloudiness, anxiety & in and out focus leaves this is hard especially when I have to work and have a newborn at home. I just want to enjoy it all normally :-(

Yes I have been eating like a pig the last 2 days and stools are getting more solid than just that nasty water. I will get my BP checked. And I got spooked and stopped taking all vitamins. I usually take. KAL multivitamin, vitamin C,b vitamins,CO-Q10. Salmon Oil,baby aspirin regimen. Each day I get a good feeling and its clear mind and clear vision good and happy feeling, then in the afternoon I get that cloudy weird out of body experience, anxiety. And my senses get low again and the nervous, anxiety starts. But the fact I can feel the good breaking thru a bit should mean I'm closer to being well I guess. Should I start my vitamins back up? My BP is a touch hi last time I checked in the hospital and yes I drink alot of water, alot. Thanks for being there for me,this site is the only thing keeping me hopeful & sane.this will all be over soon hopefully and be behind me. atthebeachYou are awesome, alsoLulu thanks also for your reply :-)

dizziness can be a sign of high or low blood pressure. also dehydration will  cause blood pressure to drop. please increase your fluid intake. can you check your bp?
many people have vision issues during detox. if they continue to decrease thats great. if these symptoms get worse please call your doctor.
have you been getting enough nutrition?

It's hard to say....But I did experience all those symptoms and more when detoxing (22 days clean for me)  I was on a different drug at a much higher dose and everyone is different.  Dizziness is usually a sign of low BP-are you on any other medications?  Remember that drugs cause trauma to the body (cluster head aches etc) and so does detox so it may take awhile to normalize.  Are you doing amino acids and vitamins?  If not I would strongly suggest.  Also-exercise is vital to produce endorphins and will give you energy.  Congratulations on your clean time-keep going it keeps getting better...Lu

Hi again the dizziness and out of focus in and out stuff happens less frequently but once a day. Is that the norco working it self out of my system slowly?

Hi thanks for your reply :-)

I was admitted to the hospital 2 weeks ago for cluster headaches, that's when I decided I wanted to quit norco. And I did. The first week was unbearable. The ending of the second I see the light. Stools are becoming off and on soft and harder instead of just straight runs. Everything is getting better no more depressed feelings or physical pain. Seems just the Fatigue,Anxiety, slight headaches is all that's left I do feel better. Just wish the mental cloudiness stupor and pop-up Anxiety subsides. I feel like maybe one more week and I could be thru this :-) oh,my BP was a touch hi in the hospital.

Welcome and congrats on your clean time.
Take immodium as needed. Also eat bananas, rice, apple sauce and toast, this is called the BRAT diet it will help bind you up.
The anxiety will pass. Exercise is important to help restore the natural brain chemistry. The norco were supplying you with these chemicals and now your brain needs to start producing them again.
It will take time to heal, mentally, physically, emotionally and spiritually. Were you dependent on them or addicted?
Are you keeping yourself hydrated? That could cause the diizziness. Also what is your blood pressure?
The good days wull begin to outwweigh the bad. Keep on keepin on. Keep fighting the good fight.
The mental clarity will return. Keep the faith. Two weeks isn't enough time for all the healing to take place. Please try to be patient. It will come
Sending encouragement,hope,
Debbie
