Hi everyone,
Thanks for your posts about neurontin.  I took my first dose yesterday and I don't know.  I was a little emotional last night.  I'm not sure if it was me or the neurontin.  I dont like not being in control of my emotions..

Congrats! I will be on two weeks tomorrow as well! As far as the Neurontin , it affects chemicals and nerves in the body that are involved in the cause of seizures and some types of pain. The exact way that it works is unknown.

Neurontin is used with other drugs in the treatment of some types of seizures and for the management of postherpetic neuralgia (nerve pain caused by the herpes virus or shingles).. I don't think it is addictive.

I was prescribed neurontin for nerve pain caused by a herniated disc. It didn't really help me any but I know of some people that had great success with it. I know for a fact that it helps with withdrawals. The have taken twice for withdrawals and hardly had any physical symptons of them. The mental part was still there though. It is used for many different of label uses such as pain, bi-polar, and siezures. Just go and google it and there is information out there. Try wikipedia. Best of luck to you!
