2 years on sub tapered myself.. RLS IS KILLING ME

Hey everyone im new to this board. Although Ive read it since about 2008. I have been on subs for roughly 2-2 1/2 years nonstop. No doc, street value. I HAD TO GET OFF ROXYS (was taking up to 20, 30mg pills a day). Ive been tapering down and down and down and down.  All the way from 2 8mgyears strips a day to 1/8th of one strip per day. Ive decided to stop. Im on day 4 or 3. Sorry im so loopy. 32 hours ans no sleep. RLS is so. terrible. Ive had friends take xans and other benzos to sleep for the first week. Is this a bad idea? And why? Ive taken them before with no consequence. In fact had a 2bad months prescription at one time. Anyway any suggestions will hdlp.w

The only thing That Is going to help you sleep is Xanax or a strong sleep aid. Otherwise it may be a few days I went 9 days straight with no sleep coming off heroin and Xanax. Be careful with benzos as they are very addicting and u pick up wds so fast its scary. A few days is ok but no longer and yes it's safe as long as your not still taking your sub. They can't be used together as you prob already know. Take care

On day nine now. Baths with salts plus what eveyone else said above. After day 5 of taking what seemed like an endless supply of supplements I found that 3 valerian root pills was all I needed. Think u need to try different approaches and see what works best. Eveyones body reacts differently. Good luck to u.

Hi there,,Im sure you have read about this from the forum. Have you tried any over the counter remedies for RLS like magnesium and potassium? Honestly,,I didnt think it would really work but it did. I was shocked. Do you have a physician that maybe could prescribe something to help ease some of the withdrawal symptoms,,like neurontin or clonidine?? If not,,try bananas and those supplements. I know it really s*cks. Also warm baths and sometimes wrapping your legs with like an ace bandage can help too. I hope you feel better soon. Id stay away from the benzo's if you can. They may work but not for long and xanax is one of the most addictive medications there is. Hang in there!~Bkitty

I tried all the homeopathic remedies and nothing worked for me.  I finally went to my doctor and she gave me a script (non addictive) that helps.  You could try epsom salt hot baths, walk every day for an hour, hylands restless legs OTC.  I understand RLS s u c k s!
