31 DAYS OFF SUBS - IS THIS NORMAL???

OK, so, I took my last piece of suboxone 31 days ago.  I am still having sleeping issues; although, not near as bad.  I sleep now - it's just all cut up and interrupted.  I also still have leg issues - like RLS which makes sleeping near impossible a lot.  And just recently, which I thought was weird, I've been having the whole bathroom issue.  I didn't have the craps the first like 3 weeks - now, all of a sudden, my stomach is having problems this week...!!!  My energy level is better, but still feel unable to do half of what I used to do in a day.  In fact, some days I just can't do anything, or feel like I can't.  I'm depressed a lot too and feel like I don't enjoy anything that I used to.  I feel like I don't enjoy much of anything...  Does this go away???  How much longer does anyone think the w/ds will last?

I was on subs for about 1 1/2 years.  I have over 50 days clean, and I can honestly tell you I wish I hadn't taken them.  That WD was worse for me (in my opinion) than the plethora of opiates I had taken.  Around 30 days or so I felt human like again.  The RLS and chills were hard for me to deal with.  Everyone is different tho.  Good luck, you can do it!

I ditto what Ms clean_in_ks has to say..Both of us have been on a research bend about the Map of the Brain for over a Year now..There is so much to it and what Substances hit what area of the Brain. I just read some great info about having the Sun hit your face first thing in the morning. And how walks in the fresh air do wonders..Also good music too! This all gets the Serintoin and the Endorphins a Jump Start to feeling Happy..SO Just keep doing what you are doing and then some..It will get better..The detox can be hard but it is the easy part..It is staying clean that takes a lot of work. Support in all areas of your Life is very important.

LMAO, i guess that's why I've been watching so much porn!  TMI!

what types of aftercare should I look for?  u mean like NA or something...  I'm afraid of NA because of past experience.  I'm like a little investigator.  I'm scared i'll seek out that person who has something.

I'm at an advantage, in the sense that my car was totaled, I have no ride!, and I'm somewhere I don't know anyone - my connect here passed away over the summer.

aftercare sounds like a good idea though...  hmmm.

Hang in there girl....!!!  As you read on Gracie's thread....the bupe/sub takes approximately 21 days to totally leave your system.  It is a "sticky" bugger....all synthetic....and having your opiate/pain receptors without it for the first time in a couple years is HUGE!  That's progress!!

I relate to feeling like you're gonna pass out...just doing the really, really simple things (like feeding yourself and personal hygiene).  I even had to get up SLOWLY cause I would get dizzy and was so weak.  My blood pressure was SUPER low for about 3 weeks.  I MADE myself just walk around my house a bit.  And when you can make yourself....just go outside for a bit.....a short walk and fresh air helps TONS!  If it's too cold where you live, get in your car and let the sun shine on your face....blare them tunes!!!!!  Music and exercise BOTH produce endorphins.

P.S.  News flash about "endorphins":  (endogenous morphine....God's natural opiates...LOL)
"Endorphins are endogenous opioid peptides that function as neurotransmitters.  They are produced by the pituitary gland and the hypothalamus in vertebrates during exercise, excitement, pain, spicy food consumption, love, and sexual activity, and they resemble the opiates in their abilities to produce analgesia and a feeling of well-being."

Guess you know from reading that above that you need to get excited, eat spicy food and make a lotta love, eh? ROFL

I was on it for a couple years...  which I can't believe now that I think about it.  I had no idea it had been so long - it was supposed to be a short-lived thing to get off shyt from a relapse.  I had gotten off the subs like 5 or 6 years ago, don't remember having this much trouble.  Anyway, been taking um for bout 2 years now.  I hopped off at taking about 1.5mg every two days.  I had done that for about a month before I hopped off.

I don't exercise AT ALL becuz I feel like I'ma pass out just by walking to the fridge to pour myself a drink.  Ok, I'm exaggerating, but I seriously feel winded by doing next to NOTHING.

I wake up sweating sometimes tho.  nasty.  I pretty much sit on the sofa.  I don't know...  I have NO motivation to do ANYTHING!  it's pathetic.  my brain is like BLEH.  I'm like a lumph!  i don't think that's a word, but that just embodies what I feel like.

I haven't had the chills in a while - like random goosebumps and freezingness.  But, that wasn't a big deal...  Wish one of the nastier symptoms would go away.

I just responded to Gracie's and her is what I said.

It all depends on how long you were on it, dosage etc.  It's a strong one so keep fighting!   You are getting better each day.

Are you exercising, sweating and eating right?   If we don't exercise and sweat it out it last much longer.   If we simply sit on the sofa and wait to get better it can really drag out.  Not to be harsh.

I sped up my recovery dramatically by exercising daily, breaking a really good sweat, eating right and then sitting in a sauna as often as possible.  I confirmed it shortened the WD's by almost 8 days!  That was huge compared to the first time I tried and did nothing to help it along.  Good luck and stay strong.  You are at 31 days so keep on truckin!

Hi there,

I just posted exactly what you did. I have 30 days off the Suboxone too and still feel like hell. I guess misery loves company because your post made me feel not so all alone.

The crazy legs (RLS) is the worst! I feel for you.

I do hope that your withdrawal symptoms leave you soon. 30 days is enough! What a nasty drug this is. It must have a very long half life or something? Regular opiate withdrawal doesn't last this long!

Bless you and take good care, Gracie
