36 Hours off Vicodin...

36 Hours off Vicodin...

So I haven't taken vicodin for 36 hours, and I don't feel a thing (only diarrhea).  I was only taking 10 mg a day, but for 7 months.  I have read on here that the worst happens from 24-72 hours...but is it possible that I won't feel so crummy?  I mean, I wasn't taking "a lot" of it compared to some of the stories I have seen on here...
Also, since I would only take the vics 1x per day (2 5mg pills) I would wake up feeling achy and withdrawn anyway...so is it possible that I have been maintaining a constant state of withdrawal or something similar and now that I have stopped that I am not going to feel it as much?  I don't know if that makes any sense.

If thats all your feeling after 36 hours you truly are lucky I feel like I'm about to crawl out of my skin You might experience some minor aches in your back or joints in the next 24 hours or so, If that happens take a hot bath several times as that will help e leave it. you like  to read that takes care of can"t sleep!! I like to read alot to sci fi Fantasy.Couldn't remember what I read if I tried now LOL

It's all relative and every person is different - but chances are your withdrawal will be much less severe than many that have you read about.

Just guessing here, but I would bet that since you only took it once a day, your brain would still have to know how to at least maintain some homeostasis without it throughout part of the day. And consequently easier for your brain to repair itself and regain homeostasis completely without it. But at the same time - the original reason that drove you to take them is still there. And I would bet you'll be just as likely to relapse as anyone else - maybe even more likely without experiencing the full horror of withdrawal...

So if you are one of the lucky ones, be careful you don't turn to using them again.

...meaning you weren't saturating and maintaining the drug in your system constantly throughout the day like most people try to do when fully addicted. Regardless of the amount taken at one time.

I was taking them for migraines.  I've tried a lot of neuro meds and nothing else helps.  I didn't like that I was taking them every day, so I told my doc I was stopping them.

If you have a legitimate reason to use them... it is a bit different. There is a real difference between dependence and addiction. But it doesn't even sound like you were even really dependent yet.

Dependence is usually easier to deal with as your emotional well-being isn't as controlled by the drug.

At least that's my understanding...
