Thanks everyone for responding! It really does help to hear from you all.Day 5 today. Need to find a doctor in my area to prescribe me Naltrexone. Anyone have experience with that ? I hear it gets rid of cravingsand is non addictive. I need to find a job asap.I put my family in dire straights financially. Feel nervous about going out and about.I've been on my own property for five days. I know I do not want to use anymore but do not trust myself.Thinking if I can get some Naltrexone,I would feel better out and about.Best wishes to all of you who replied and are also in the early phases of quitting. Feel better everyday.Sleep still stinks but diarrhea has stopped and i'm eating like a hog. Energy still low but trying to move around too.

For restless legs : take a warm bath before bed and put a hot compress on ur legs.

Stomach pain: curl in a ball (sorry not much else)
Stay strong. See you on the sober side.

CONGRATS  HAM,it will take some time to get your sleep regulated but it will be worth .I,m on day 15 and I went from staying up all night to getting 2 hours to eventually now I,m sleeping like a baby regularly. you will get there hang tight.you showed remarkable strength by not arguing with family.i know that's hard to do especially while detoxing. iknow I had to just shut myself in for the first 7 days and focus on the goal of becoming free and clean. your family will really appreciate the new you. keep on keepin on my friend you can do this ONE DAY AT THE TIME. PEACE OUT!!!!!!!!

Great job Ham! 4 days and counting! Don't despair over the past but do learn from it. Oh my those percs! We have all done things we are not proud of. Let the critics vent their anger and don't respond for now. Leaving the room and not the property is a good plan for now until you feel stronger. Focus on getting clean and show them what you got! Get into aftercare asap and keep this going! Great job on 4 days!

You got this!!! 3 days down, you got this don't give up now!
Deep breaths when the anxiety hits you, find something enjoyable to watch on telly when you have too much time to yourself, also seek out company of others. A meeting is a good idea if you feel well enough.
Keep up the good work!!

Welcome to the forum, Hambone!!  I, too, love that name...how fun...made me grin.  Congrats on saying enough is enough!  We all get to that place eventually (if we live long enough).....so glad you have!  Sometimes we just
recognize that the only way to get free is to surrender and go through it!

You've rec'd some great tips on getting thru the early stages of detox.  Let us know how you are doing and how we can help.  Hang on...every day we don't put a pill in our bodies.....we are HEALING~~

Hi, Ham (love that name, too). Just to make you giggle, All the sh*t you did to get pills, you and every other addict did it, too. We've all humiliated ourselves into utter despair. And here we are.

Day 3: great job! Yes, it blows, it hurts, we've all been there. For right now, treat yourself really well (like you have the flu, which is just like this), so watch a billion movies, read, play video games whatever to pass the time. And please please please keep posting. I promise you, we ALL know what this feels like and I (and many many others) learned the hard way we can't do this alone. It just doesn't work. We HAVE to keep connecting w/ other sober folks or we're screwed. So keep it up.

Day 3: it's gonna get a bit better now each day:) And take a lot of HOT baths and showers.

Hi hambone (love that name). Welcome to the forum.  Stick around and keep posting, you will find lots of great advice and support here. I agree with Lulu above. I would just add that if you can get yourself outside in the fresh air, even for just a short walk, it will help immensely. Exercise can help with the fatigue, restlessness, and even help you sleep.

Congrats on the 3 days! You are well on your way.  Take care.

Hey congrats on making it 3 days!  You are almost through the worst of it.  In another 48 hours the physical symptoms will subside.  Just keep hydrated, move around as much as possible, hot baths with epsom salts, and calm soothing breaths.  If you surrender to the process instead of fighting it then detox is much much easier.
After you're through Day 5 start to think about what kind of aftercare you are going to engage in so that you never, ever have to go back to this place.
Keep posting, you're doing great.
Sending support...
