there r a few reasons why drs wil rx narcotics without alot of thought/but that is changing very quickly as drs now have to prove why they r prescribing them and have documented proof to kep them outta trouble..a dose of 600 mgs would definitely be a huge red flag unless u were terminally ill etc..and even then this dose would be questioned..number one reason why drs rx narcs without addiction teaching is that that addicts are in the minority...most people do not get addicted to narcotics or they would be off the market..only a person prone to addiction will build a tolence to take 600 mgs of oxy in one day..that would kill alot of people unless they r an addict with a tolerence..another ereason is that pwople who can read are expected to read the info given to them when they fill the scrip...it will clearly state they r addciting and most often u have to initial that u understand the consequences of the side effects of the drug before u leave the pharmacy
But many do not understand that this mental stuff will follow the physical stuff...i thought once i got thru the flu i had for 4 days i would be finished..being a nurse I was unaware of the mental aftermath...wished I woulda googles that part!
tapering can be hard for an addict...best of luck to u..most often an addict will need to hand over their pills to someone they trust to hold them and dole them out daily..the definition of an addict is loss of control over their DOC..so controlling a taper can be a huge challenge...there is a greatarticle in the health pages on tapering..the thomas recipe can also help..writing out a taper day by day and picking a QUIT day is important...if the addict screws up during the taper, QUIT day is still QUIT day...a down time in a schedule like a long weekend or a vacation (not a fun vacation ): ! is recommended
Just curious??? How do bananas help with tapering? I do know they r high in potassium like orange juice and chicken breasts and in theory to help rls (caused by a lack of dopamine production after cessation of narcotics while the brain heals)...but have ever seen them as part of a taper?
Shes supportive now but seems to think wd is only 1 day....HA
