40 hours into cold turkey, when can I take the sedative clonidine patch off!!!!

I'm 40 hours ct, yes ***** big time. Habit for over a year at 80 of norco. Weaning to 50 mg last month, jumped off 40 hours ago. I can deal with the cold and hot, running nose, aches for ibuprofen. But this clonidine patch is so sedating I feel it's holding me back from seeing the end. It's keeping me in a daze.  I hear peak at my level of use is 36 hours, God I hope so. I was ready to check in yesterday.  I have clonidine pills as well. But I think this patch may be making me to sedated. Is it time to take off? I can use the pills if I need to.. Just think its preventing me from seeing the end... Making me foggy and sedated. No energy at all..
Anyone experience this amount of use and can give me an idea of their peak time, there worst and when they started to feel that they were going to pull through this?

I just tried one of these and have been totally exhausted for the past 2 days. I thought I was coming down with the flu, but I wasn't just tied...I could barely functiin and food made me nauseated. I just removed the patch. I've always had low blood pressure. I have no idea why I was given this. No more for me!

Took it off and feel so so much better!!!! It was so sedating all I could do is lay there and feel sorry for myself. Did not let me sleep, just could not move in pain and that's the worst. Took it off 7 hours ago and I drove to the post office, got a Starbucks and now cooking dinner.. Wtf!!!!its 48 hours post last vicodin, could this be over? A little leg soreness, a little irritable ...that's it..Thomas recipe rocks!!!! Lets hope I'm not getting prematurely happy...

Hey Friend, congrats on quitting! Soon you will be out here in the light with me feeling good and living life!
as far as the sedated feeling, when Iwas at the stage you are at I was thankful to get any sedation I could. I couldn't take clonodine due to low blood pressure, but I did have some xanax which i used very sparingly throughout, but sedation from clonodine would have been great. In any case, stick with it, and when you can't eat, drink ensure.
You can do it!
hugs,
Lily

I used clonidine for my detox as well and it helped me so much. It's supposed to sedate you so your anxiety is more under control. I would use it for as long as your doctor has instructed then use the pills. You might feel lousy now but it really does help. You're also dealing with wd's as well which zap your energy...just get through this next week and you will feel so much better. I had a 20 to 30 pill a day habit for close to 13 years so I had a hell of a detox but I did get through it and so can everyone else...I honestly just accepted the fact that I would die an addict but I took control, put the hard work in(which never stops for the rest of our lives) and got my life back. The rewards are too many to count...everyone out there can do it just believe that you can...have some much needed confidence in yourself and go for it!! Good luck...

usually day 2-4 are the worst depending on how long and what dose you been taking, but it can last longer, i usually count the day after a dose as Day 1, so if your 48 hrs from your last dose your are just now on Day 2, i havent never took clonidine, but i think it will probably turn into your best friend soon, GOOD LUCK BUDDY!!

I did take it off about 48 hours into cold turkey a few minutes ago. I have the pill form as well. For some reason the patch makes me so sedated I can't lie saying its the flu. Looks like I'm a walking zombie. I still have rls, woke up at 2am but slept 5 hours then again another hour downstairs. Taking Thomas recipe and feel that's doing the best for me. I've never counted hours and minutes like this except as a kid waiting for Santa clause....now it's waiting for my life back or some light. I just feel I should start to feel better by now 48 hours in, not the heavy heavy user( 80 mg norco for a year) down to 40 then jumped. Body was comfortable at 40. I feel for anyone at higher doses going through cold turkey, Your true heroes if you go through this at higher doses. I could not. Please tell me this will be over soon....48 hours in cold turkey and how much longer do I get the physical part out of the way. The flu feeling out and gone...

Hey hook
Everyone is different but most of us find that withdrawals last 3 to 4 days.  Every time is different too.  I usually found day 3 to be the worst.  It sounds like maybe you are going through the worst of it now so hang in there and know that it will pass soon.
I don't know about the clonodine but if it is helping you sleep, I would leave it on.  It could also be dulling the opiate withdrawals.  Totally up to you though.  If it is bothering you then take it off.
Maybe someone with more experience with clonidine will come along and give you more advice.
Stay strong and know that the worst will be over soon.
