4th day of stopping hydros

Ok guys, I'm on my fourth day of stopping hydro's (every two hours).  I have a script for Pristiq..has anyone taken this antidepressant? I read too much and it states on drugs.com that side effects can be nausea (which I am totally suffering from), dizziness and scared to start taking it...have been diagnosed with PTSD, GAD and am a nervous wreck.  Would starting Pristiq now cause even more uncomfortable stuff?  Doctor does not know about hydro addiction which I stopped 4 days ago...very proud of myself...but feel totally alone...no one in family knows.  He also gave me clorazepate (which just puts me to sleep and nausea).  I hate combining drugs, can you believe that?  Any input about the Pristiq would be appreciated.

Ive been drinking lots of water too.  Peeing like crazy lol...but its helping flush that crapiola out of our systems right??  Also, if you like it, which I do, I get that vitamin water and it keeps good things (or so they say on the bottle) in your body, I hope so!  I do like it tho...

K, never did find the info on Pristiq, it was Celexa...but I used to take Lexapro for 4 years and stopped taking it about a year ago...cause I came to the stupid conclusion that a pill cannot fix your marriage or make you stay happy....I would feel better taking that!  But I just read about the amino acid stuff and took a 100mg 5htp....could I start taking Lexapro today?  Also took L-tyrosine....drinking water too.

Just FYI when I was checking my email this morning on MSN, they had Pristiq on the front page in an ad, maybe you could go on there to get some info?

Maybe you should ask for another AD that you have heard of.  If you are afraid to take the Pristiq, but want to feel energetic and happy again, maybe you should go on Celexa or Zoloft or something?

is that a new AD? Never heard of it...anyhwo I would go ahead and try it. Just because it lists those as possible side effects doesnt mean you will get them.  Heck did you read all the side effects for hydro? lol.  Every drug has potentially dozens of possible side effects- they have to list them all just in case but most people only get one or two at the most.  and if depression and anxiety are a huge problem for you, the benefit outweighs the risk. also there are meds out there that you can use to combat nausea. if its becomes a huge problem, call your Dr and tell him the new med is giving you bad nausea and have them give you a RX for it if need be. GOod luck to you and congrats on getting off the hydro.

I took it as a 'last ditch' effort from my shrink... didn't care much for it... it's a SLIGHT variation from another drug by the same company

No info on Pristiq from me…I’m sure others have a wealth on info for you. I was also diagnosed with ptsd and was on hydo and morphine for a lot of years and went CT. After day 6 I was on the up and up. The rls started to dissipate and my head cleared. I was on antidepressants until recently for pain but have since stopped due to weight gain. It feels good with noting in me except my BP meds….No pain ..no gain.

First of all CONGRATULATIONS on getting your life back. I have never heard of that med but I just wanted to let you know your not alone. You will get so much support from everyone here. You should be getting close to the end of the physical w/d's...But as you probably know the mental maybe even harder. Hopefully someone will be along soon that will know something about that med. I just wanted to let you know your not alone...Take care of yourself and stay strong.
