I just did a 45 day detox off suboxin I was at 16 mg and was on this dose for two years I joined a gym and took Heath and healthy lifestyle and after 45 days I have to tell u it is a easy withdraw but leaves u depressed and weak and low energy. What the doctors don't tell u is what they call a grey area lol. So 80% that jump off this med relapse have u ever heard of someone beating this detox NOPE and if you do if they were on this med long it will STOP the making of dopamine this is needed and will not begin to work for 6 months to 2 years to get out of this funk and it's very stressful and hurts like hell I began to go nuts finally I told a friend how this med has killed my dope mine levels and I could not join him at the gym he was worryed that's not like me as I trained with him all summer on subs he asked a few times and I told him what's going on and he answered I have a med for that he has ADD and gave me conserta it changed my life just like the subs I was scared to get hooked as I liked it I was doing all my workouts and feeling like a boss I told myself one month and two 18mg tabs swallowed in the AM and after my mind was tricked into being more motivated and re started the dopamine levels NO matter what ppl say u have to use meds to help or to keep you sane but I warn you long use of subs ****** me up!! But at first they saved me ask your doc about everything and about the detox and tapper if he won't have a long convo about it and it don't feel right don't do it dope sick is way better and faster and u can always smoke bud just please drop the hard drugs and pick the ones that will help u threw this cuz it's not easy holly ramble but you all need to know how badly the detox CAN be but you will always lose your dopamine so Ritalin or conserta can help at a low and fair dose just remember you quit pills so don't get hooked on these lower it every week GOODLuCK ppls

I was on 2mg when I jumped off.  Day 5  I had mild anxiety but that was it. When I was on 16mg I failed a drug test for Adderall and my Dr wasn't there that day so the nurse wouldn't give me my script til I talked to him and told him why I failed the test. I was fine until the 6th day, but then the WD's hit and they were horrible. Luckily I was going to the Dr that day to get my script back or who knows what I would have done. Then when I was on 4mg a day I ended up running out. Even on 4mg the Wd's were way worse than Wd's from my DOC.  My advice to you would be to taper as low as you can before you jump off. I really worked hard to get myself mentally ready to get off them. I was always the one that would freak out at the first sign of Wd and would end up making it 10 times worse than it really was. So I knew that I had to be ready for whatever would happen. I kept really busy and tried not to think about it. And before I knew it 70 days have passed and I am in control of my life for the first time in 14 years.  Feel free to ask as many questions as you want! I am here to help anyway I can. I wish you the very best of luck!  You can and will break free from Sub's.

Wow!!! Congrats!! 69 days is awesome!! I hope that I can do it, I want off sub sooo bad! I've gone from 24mgs a day down to 10mgs a day 10mgs is what I'm at now & hopefully by the end of this month I can be down to 8mgs a day! I'm very scared about what it will be like to get all the way off. I had to miss an appointment back in sept & I ran out before I could get back in to see my doctor it was 5 days of pure he@@! Well days 1 & 2 were not bad but third through the fifth days were awful! I hope it won't be like that when I jump off I think I will get down real low before I try to jump off. How low did u go? Were your w/d's intense, long? I know everyone is different but just curious. How low was your dose when you first noticed some w/d symptoms? Sorry to ask all these questions I just have no one really to talk to about sub I do go to AA but no one there knows what sub is. Anyway I've bothered you enough. Congrats again for getting & staying sub free for 69 days!

I think this support group is gonna be a great thing. I know that when it comes to being an addict I would rather be talking with somebody who knows exactly what I am going through. My counselor is great and I really like her BUT she has never been in my shoes.I have had counselors tell me I know how you feel but how do they know what I am feeling if it isn't not something they have been through.Uhhhh....  I am glad to hear you are doing good. I know how you feel with the sleep thing. I have insomnia and some weeks I will be up for 4 days before I finally fall over. Sad part is I have no energy to do anything while I can't sleep lol.

It is a great feeling to find yourself again. After almost 14 years of drug abuse I finally know who I am. I am still dealing with not having energy BUT I will take that over being strung out on pills. I no longer have to fake a smile or laugh. That is the greatest feeling in the world. Good luck to you! I am here if you need to talk.

Thanks Sara! I am glad that I can stick around!!! I want to be able to help somebody if I can. I am getting a Suboxone support group together in my town. My sub counselor asked me to do it to help the ones that were still taking it and scared to get off it. I am pretty excited to get to have a group like that here.

Thank you! How have you been doing?  I have missed being on here but haven't had any internet. Now that I do I will be trying to help whoever I can! This site for sure helped to get me where I am today. I had taken the Vivitrol injection to block the cravings but have decided that I don't want to use any kind of drugs to keep me off my DOC. I feel if I had stayed on the injection that it would cause me to be weak in the long run.
