I agree with FLaddict, I am on day 8 of my C/T withdrawal from vicodin and I DO take a B-12 sublingually each day and a BIG multi vitamin....I mean BIG. lol The chewable ones that they give to bariatric patients. The B-12 seems to help with the energy level. I can tell the days I forget to take it towards the afternoon. NO ENERGY. OK hope this helps...Precious
RightOn, thats greatStay in touch with the people in this forum as we are all for one anotherThe question you raised on exercise is an excellent way to replentish the seratonin and dopamine that artificial opiods deplete, espescially cardoi i.e. walking, biking, swimming etc.bye for now johnnykelly
Sublingual means it absorbs under the tongue. some B vitamins are destroyed by the stomach so taking them this way ensures absorption. I would start with the B complex you can take it in the morning and afternoon. Wait a few weeks and if your energy isn't better then add L-tyrosine. It can be taken up to 1500mgs 3x per day. i would start lower and then find your dose like that. I now take l-theanine for my anxiety and its helped me more than xanax ever did.. its a amino acid found in green tea and it calms and relaxes you naturally by stimulating your GABA in your brain.. which is what xanax does, but this isn't addicting or harmful.
I am now only taking flexiril and zanaflex for muscle spasms from the Fibromyalgia and other stuff I was diagnosed with, I guess i was self medicating.. I had my first real migraine a few weeks ago and i wouldn't wish that on my worst enemy.. so i understand.. i hope to never get one again.
Again great job hun
XOXO
Thanks!!!! I was hoping you would see my post. I am no longer taking anything, but a xanax every once in a while if I feel a panic attack coming on, but I really try to keep that to the bare minimum as I know that could spell trouble also, even though I do not think they do much for me anyway. I do take a multi every day, always have. I am assuming I should take the B complex in the AM? When you say liquid sublingual form, what exactly do you mean by this (not too up on terminology). Which would be better - the B or the L tryosine? I do not have any real health issues except for migraines, which began my downward spiral into opiate addiction.
hey there.. congrats hun.. missed you around here.. i am now almost 4 months off pills..
as far as energy B complex 100mgs taken a few times a day in a liquid sublingual form can help alot with a multi vitamin.. are you still on any anti depressants?? If not L-tyrosine is also an option read up on it though it has some interactions with certain health issues like diabetes and blood pressure
hope this helps
I read your thread first because Fiocody is almost my last name!!! Anyway, my only suggestion is exercise. I know... But studies have found that exercise is as effective as antidepresssants, and the more you do, no matter how slow you start, the more energy you have the next day. There is a natural endorphin buzz that can take the place of the bad pills to some degree. You probably already know this, but I thought I'd say the unpopular anyway. I hate to exercise :)
