7 months pregnant..busted in the bathroom!

Well as some of you know my daughter is 7 months pregnant and addicted to vicodin. She told me yesterday that she is trying to cut down from 9-12 a day to 5-6. I wanted to get her in to the doctors today but they were closed due to the holidays and will be closed tomorrow. Anyway, i didnt know she was in the bathroom and i walked in to her snorting a line of coke. WTF!!! We got into this huge fight, i feel awful. I really dont think she wants to quit. She left the house and said she will never talk to me again.... Do i give up? She is not a throw away. I have custody of her first child. Should i just let it go and focus on him??

Others with experiance in this will answer. At 1st I thought "get her locked up then I thought of the child but maybe thats best for the baby to. I dont know but as I said others will post back. From the addict side thogh shes NOT ready to quit and if it wasnt for the baby I"d put her out cause its up to her,,but the baby thing,,plz wait for answers from those with experiance in this.

I am lost here too honey. If it weren't for the baby, I would say let it go. But, how do you do that?

As you can guess----there will hardly be anyone here tonight. You may not get too many answers, but please stay around.

If nothing else, just keep chatting if it helps.

I am so sorry.

I would just let her know when she is ready you are there . Pregnant or not if she does not want to quit she wont .I hate saying that but it is the truth. Its on her to get herself prenatal care and addiction help.
We are hear to listen this has to be so hard on you .I can honestly say I would not know that to do if this were my daughter . Was she using when she had her first child that you are raising ?

Sorry about your pain of her addiction. Im 32 clean from vicodin and oxy today. But I was addicted to cocaine years ago too. I had a friend that snorted coke daily (lots of it) and the babies came out early and had developmental problems. Maybe if you can print out the dangers of drugs on her fetus it will help her to make the right choice.  I will pray for both of you

I am praying for you and this situation. There is no right answer. I think she needs to know that you are still there for her. Just my opinion. Good Luck. Keep us posted. You can lean on our shoulders, anytime.

I really feel for you, that is a very bad situation. I assume she's been using coke and opiates her entire pregnancy? Im scared for the problems the baby may likely have when born. from what Ive read Coke brings a whole new set of defects/disabilities to the table that opiates dont.

hang in there, hopefully you will get better advice from some others here who have direct experience with this drug and situation. I "only" have abused opiates..

If you don't mind my asking does your daughter have a job or anything that would be positive prospects in her life right now?

Does she have any kind of CPS/Clinic/Doctor she's seeing (would probably be required to see them, most in her situation don't follow up on their own).

I often say to folks in this situation that getting the legal system involved almost never has the result you expect. Which is not to say a good result doesn't come out of it!
You just have to be prepared for those legal curve balls...

no savas, my daughter has never had a job. She thinks she can get through life with her good looks. She says she does not have to work because she will always be taken care of. She has not seen a dr. for this pregnancy. I think she is afraid because she cannot stop using nor( now i know) she does not want to stop.
