7 tears taking 45 tylenol pills with codein a day, then oxycontin 280 mg a day for 2 years, Damage to liver ??

I have taken 45 tylenol w/ codein pills a day for about 7 years. It progressed to Oxycontin at 20 mg a day(plus the tylenol w/codeine) for about six months. Then for about a year and a half I was up to 280 mg of oxy (plus the 45 pills of tylenol) a day. As stupid as this sounds, it sort of just happened after a bunch of operations. No excuse, I knew what was happening, and let it happen. I had quit drinking about 4 years before this all started but was for 13 years a 4x60 oz whiskey drinker a week. I made up my mind to quit the alcohol, cold turkey. I did not sleep for 3 months because of the shakes but I stuck to it and prevailed. I decided to do the same with the tylenol and codein and oxycontin. Well, the tylenol w/codein was a cold turkey event. Quit in one day. No thoughts of it since. But no matter how determined I was to quit the oxy, my body would not allow it. I received a calmative and an anti shake (DT"s) med from the Dr. but decided to detox at home. I had the worst seizures, pain, sweats, falling out of bed, not being able to sleep, only sleeping 2-3 hours a night. Could not walk. It was horrible. I kept 10 of the 20 mg oxy pills for emergencies because of severe panick attacks. Only then and only at night did this happen. But in 3 weeks almost all of the symptoms of my addiction were reduced to near nothing.
I'm cool now. Don't even think about taking oxy or codein, at all. (Q) My worry is what damage have I stupidly done to my Liver (especially), Kidneys and Brain function. It's been 4 months clean and I just went for blood and Urine tests and explained my history. The next day the Dr.'s office called and said the Dr. wanted to see me A.S.A.P. for the results of my blood tests (and I'm assuming my urine tests as well). I'm very scared to go. Could you conclude anything, from my past abuses, that would at least prepare me for what I might hear. It's keeping me awake and I'm, just really scared. Thanks for a quick response.

Thanks for the info. Yeah, my sugar is always good, no cholesterol issues. I have High blood pressure but have since high school, 31 yrs ago.ugh. But I'm glad you are thinking about other reasons too. I think I have pretty much messed up my liver. I just hope the outcome of my stupidity can be treated.

the reason i was wondering about those things, is my aunt is a diabetic and they check her urine for sugars, and when i have to take my R.A. med methotrexate, i have to have a renal panel done every 3 weeks to make sure it doesn't mess with my liver and kidney's.  the doc told me to watch my urine to see if it changes in color - like becomes dark or cloudy and gets a smell to it, he also told me to juice up my fluid intake and than I always look into the whites of my eyes to see if i am turning yellow.  my aunt told me that when she get's to much sugar or when her sugar is high, she can taste a tin taste or metallic taste in her mouth, and they also watch her liver and kidneys for damage because of the sugar bunnies - if to high can damage also.

And, just a thought, I had kidney infection  a couple of times and man did my back and sides hurt.  maybe you are getting an infection.  do you have fever or chills?  I am glad that you are going to the doc.  I know it is hard to  not worry about it.  but, try not to beat yourself up and panic yourself,  wait until you see the doctor.  keep posting and let us know what is going on.

Urinatining is no problem. It is usually a dark yellow. no smell. I'm not jaundiced(yellow) I not worried about the Dr finding drugs in my system. I'm afraid to take anything now. I went on Thursday they called Friday and the Dr. is in on Tuesday. The waiting *****. I feel fine other than for about a week my sides at my hips but in my back hurt like heck. I was worried about my kidneys so I thought I better have the live checked too. Thanks for replying.

well,if it has been 4 months since you have taken any pills there probably won't be any in your urine.  but, you may have protein in your urine or something all together.  when are you going in?  this sounds kinda odd asking this but - when you urinate is it dark and cloudy and have a strong smell or is it light colored and clear?  have you had any other problems that you have noticed, like yellowing of skin or whites of eyes, funny tastes in your mouth - stuff like that.   do you pee normally or every once in awhile, i mean is your habit of peeing normal.
