8 Months Clean for me today - How much clean time do you have?

I am waking up to 8 months clean today!  Looking back, I have been so blessed, the things that I have accomplished and the positive changes in my life are amazing - living clean is what life is and was meant to be.  I have been traveling the past two weeks on business - going home today - finally!  The last several days have been spent in Las Vegas.  This was a challenge for me, so much drinking and of course gambling.  This is the first time that I found it challenging to keep from drinking - I can't begin to tell you how many times I was offered a drink this weekend.  Saying NO does get easier, but I so wanted to say - "oh, what will it hurt to just have one"?  I did not want to find out.  Besides - this is my first trip to Las Vegas that I woke up each morning without a hang over - that was worth it.

For those of you who are just getting started, take it one day at a time - you will get there and life does get better.  Get into some aftercare and keep posting on Medhelp.

Thanks to everyone for your support - 4 more months and I will have my year birthday!

How much clean time do you have - brag away!

Day 7 for me, just coming out of the nightmare and finally seeing light. Going to an NA meeting tommorow night so I stay strong. A lot of ups and downs but I'm getting better at just being me already.

Congrats on your 8 months!  That's so awesome and you should be extremely proud - especially surviving Vegas. Im on day 14 of suboxone w/draw.  Actually went to the gym and worked out a little.  I have to admit that I'm frustrated.  I figured I'd be so much better than I am at this point.  I can't tell you exactly how long I was on suboxone - I took it on and off for a couple of years when I didn't have any percs.  I've read the Health pages and just get depressed thinking that I'm going to be like this for maybe another 2 to 4 weeks.  Any words of encouragement to keep me sane?
