I have profound respect for any and everyone who has walked away from methadone, so big ups on Day 8! I think we both got a little lucky with the sleep thing, I have been able to close my eyes for about 5 or 6 hours each night, but the days are pretty rough. So if all your fighting is the low energy, you are in a fortunate place compared to most of what I have read and experienced. I am on Day 15 and the physicals are still with me, just less and they pop up throughout the day.
Anyhow, I think the emotional attachment to pets, people, causes are all good things that help us repair of emotional mind states which in the end will be our place of strength and fortitude. As much as I was hurting last week, a friend called on the edge of divorce and I had to go his rescue even though I felt like crap, by the time I left, I felt so much better and I had not talked to him in months previously. I am discovering my inner self all over again and I am sure the same thing is happening to you. I wish you the best with your recovery and look forward to reading your success story as it develops.
Congrats on 8 days!! And your sleeping you said? Thats awesome!! Thats generally a big problem during withdrawals. Glad your baby is ok!! I have an 11 year old baby(pit bull) which some years back had 2 blood transfucsions & emergency surgery for a bacterial infection, so I feel your pain, when they hurt....we hurt. I am following in your footsteps, and hoping for the best, but like Gnarly said, everyones recovery is different. I can only hope for the best!! You have come so far! Keeping a positive, busy mind is a big help. Take your supplements, and keep your head up!! We are here for you!! Hope your little doggie gets well soon!!! Jewlz
