HI.....welcome to the forum...the energy crash makes kicking methadone the monster that it is
threw much trial and error I have found some stuff that helps.....exercise even if its just a walk around the block to get started will be a big help you can build up from there...I tell everyone detoxing from this stuff to hook up with whey protein shakes there loaded with essential amino acids as well as vitamins along with the protein these are all the building blocks to rebuilding your brain function.....you can get a 2lb can up at walmart fro 15 bucks the chocolate flavor is good alll you do is mix it with milk drink 2 a day this is not a quick cure but rather a building block to getting well ....I only wish I found out about this sooner it really makes a difference over time....for me 90 days was where I started to feel better it a gradual process but with time and God you do heal ......hang in there keep posting for support your not unique this is just the way it gose with a lot of people on methadone good luck and God bless......Gnarly

I would track down Gnarly.....He has a lot of experience with methadone withdrawal...I too detoxed off of methadone which was hell but exercise is definetly the way to go....Also, multivitamins are not enough.....Have you looked at the Amino Therapy Protocol on the health pages?  If not take a look....A lot of people think that just because they are sober their energy will come racing back....This is not always the case, it depends on your current health and dietary habits.....Take a good long look at what you are eating and like vicki595 said try and get some exercise....The key is getting 35-40 minutes of continuous exercise 5 days a week....You will not be able to just run out and do this on day one but your body will adjust and you can work up to this.....As always, make sure you consult your Dr. if you are over the age of 40 before starting any kind of diet and exercise program....Good luck and God bless!

Are you getting any exercise?  Seriously, exercise is the single most important thing you can do. You need to get your stamina back up!    Low energy is very typical after Methadone so you're normal.

Be sure you're eating well, too!
