90 hours in- without Vics

I am 90 hours in without using any Norco and still haven't experienced the stomach cramps/ diarrhea. Could I not get it? Am I almost outta the w/d stage?

Hey Gnarly. I really starting eating a lot of fruits and the vitamins. I am almost afraid to say I feel really good. I love my job so that helps and I am only 25 hours a week. I can at anytime take the pills and I still have no desire. I have really felt a spiritual kind of "intervention" its sounds so cliche I know but truely I feel good. The stories here and all of you have HELPED more than you know.

Thank you Sandy! This place is def what got me through. I did a lot of soul searching and had some break downs. I prayed months before I stopped and non stop during the whole thing. I know its a journey and I know you must want it 110% in order to be successful. I honestly feel like a new person. I have no guilt anymore and my kids have mommy back!

Good morning!

It is great news that all is well  and I couldn't be happier for you.  I saw that you decided to get a  sponsor as well - Considering you had no withdrawals after a high dose of Norco, I think it's a great decision on your part to be proactive and get the aftercare lined up.  Don't get me wrong, withdrawals or not, we always stress aftercare once the physical misery is over; but as I've said before, you've had the luck of the angels on your side, so getting a sponsor will only help with your continued success.
I'm STILL amazed :)

Don't be a stranger, keep posting when you feel like it;  we always like to hear about continuing success stories.

Well wishes to you....

Sandy :)

Yes I called our church and talked with some others and now have a sponsor. Every time I think of a pill I get sick. Its hard for me to choke down the vitamins, I gag. I truely believe my faith in God our saviour is the reason I slid through on a lighter side. I still had major aniexty,no sleep, and NO energy. Staying in bed seems to make it worse had to keeping moving even if it was folding laundry. Now the hard journey begins. Thank you Gnarly for the advice and I will be in aftercare! Have a blessed day all off to work I go! CLEAN!!!!!

HI your one of the lucky ones we see a few of you guys/gals a month where the withdrawal is minor or nonexistent BTW got to love your nick but all kidding aside there is way more to this the detoxing I commend all of you on this post for getting threw your detox but I cant stress enough about the importance of aftercare.......I know we beat this drum alot but its because its so important to sobriety strong will will only get you so far it wont stop or treat the addiction as addicts we need to learn to change the very way we think and reason no you can go to a counselor or an addiction therapist if money allows but N/A and A/A are free and we have a whole slew of members that use one or the other I started out in the rooms of N/A6yr 11 mo ago but lived in denile about my methadone addiction for a few more years till I met Paul my substance abuse conslor it took him a yr to convince me I had a problem but today I got 836 days clean from that all due to aftercare you guys/gals the detox is just the beginning give yourselfs a fighting chance become pro/active in your recovery I wosh you all the best in recovery but it takes work nobody is 2 bizzy for an hr a week if you can do more do so but if I can get an hr a week out of each of you i wont be detoxing you in 6 mo again good luck and God bless......Gnarly

Just finished reading your posts. I too was using 8 to 10 Norco 10s a day for well over a year. I went cold turkey 29 days ago ( tomorrow is the big 30), and I have to say that there is definately someone watching over you...My first 4 days of detox were hell. So, I'm happy to learn that you seemed to have avoided that experience. From this point on you should be safe. Congrats on getting clean, and I'm glad you're feeling better. Keep posting.

Mom had to work, I am waiting until someone gets home before I take any. However the pain has eased up so I am thankful for that. Seem to have less energy today. Work tomorrow it will help so much. Music is keeping me sane.

Hi there---So sorry you've got a kingsize bellyache. All poop jokes aside, it's just plain rotten to have a intestine FOS and can't go. If you haven't drunk the mag citrate yet, please call your family doctor first and tell Doc the symptoms before you do that. The reason is that it might be a serious condition other than/in addition to the FOS problem (especially since you have endometriosis, which on occasion can attack the intestines), and you could do yourself great harm. I'll be here on and off all day after my orthopedic postop appointment at 1, and check in on you. If you do take the mag citrate, have someone there who can help you if you get faint, as mag citrate is really strong, and the cramps can be rotten. Hang in there, and batten down the hatches for the poop typhoon!

Alone...
I am sorry you are suffering my dear...I, too, have severe endometriosis and also Crohns Disease and understand all to well your pain.  The constipation is often caused by the opiates which slow down our bowel function.  If you've gone that long without going, there is a possibility of an obstruction...I've had several and they are not fun.  Try the mag citrate first, and if it doesn't work PLEASE go to the ER.

I wanted to add that when I first c/t off the opiates 58 days ago, my pain was terrible...Now it's completely manageable and I barely even take tylenol. It takes awhile for your pain receptors to re-set post opiates.   I am doing holistic therapies which I would be happy to discuss with you once you get past this time of crisis.  Please reconsider taking the mag citrate sooner, rather than later.  Can your Mom or someone help you with the babies today?  It's really important to get that taken care of.  Twelve days without a bm, and through detox no less, is not something to take lightly....

Drink as much fluid as possible and move around as much as you can.  If you do go to the ER make sure to tell them about your detox okay?  Take good loving care of yourself and congratulations on 5 days.....Be proud of yourself.  Please keep us posted.....

I used it before and had to drink 2 bottles for it to work. I was in the hospital though. Plus I was pregnant. I will check back in later tonight. I may have to wait to drink it til tonite or I won't be able to take care of my babies.

I'm so glad your Mom is coming over with the magnesium citrate.  I hope it works!    I guess this is the downside of no withdrawals for almost 5 days.

This is a miserable side effect of stopping opiate use;  but I'm keeping my fingers crossed that it's the only side effect you will have.

Keep posting so we know how youre doing.

Sending you well wishes...

Sandy
