98 days clean and I turn 42 today yeppy
hello my amazing friends today I turn 42 clean and sober that it itself is a true gift, it has been about five years sense I have had a birthday clean and sober, life after pills can be very hard it is a struggle but here is a ray of light for those who may be in the dark,
I woke up this morning on my 42 bday to the sun shinnning down on my face I awoke with a smile now my routine sense being sober has changed it used to be get up make coffee and grab my fix, and then sit and wait for it to take affect it was terrible couldnt even start the day with out chemical help. but now I get up get my coffee and depending on the weather I sit on the nice days on my porch and watch the wonderment of the world. if it is nasty I sit and watch my fav game show family fued, then I take a shower and get busy doing my daily routine of taking care of my house and family,
And on my 42 bday I couldnt have gotten up on a more beautiful day the sun is shinning and there is a breaze I love to sit and let the wind run through my hair and feel it on my face. the leaves are bright oranges and reds and yellows I live in ky so you can imagine how truly amazing fall can be here there is a lil nip in the air I have put out all my fall stuff and the house smells of sugar cookies baking it is truly a gorgeouse day, and I can tell sense being sober I find so much joy in the small things around me like the trees or my kids laughing,smells are wonderul I can feel so much now, after being numb for so many years at first those feeling were so intense and hard to deal with but as time rolls on you begin to love the feelings, my amazing friends and family are throwing me a lil get 2gether to celebrate my bday and my almost 100 days of being clean I only have two more to go I think I will make it. LOL I will tell you that it gets so much better the fog lifts the pain get easier and you will find so much peace and love all around you.
Keep the faith the journey is a hard one but is so worth it, I wouldnt go back to using for anything in the world, I have even started making my primitive art work which I have not touched in five years I can make some beautiful things I will post pics some day of my work. as you go through you journey dont give up keep fighting cause like I have said before you will find that life is so much better being clean. I have been unchained from the bottle for 98 days those chains are broke you can do it. love and light solost

Congrats!!!you really deserve it, it's not easy to be clean fo 100 days, but you have made it, and one the most important things, it's to see how you enjoying your life, even simple things, without the intake of a pill, it's amazing I wish to be as lucky as you are right now, I'm on my 38th day without the mounster, and I'm still going through a very tough stage, struggling every day being stronge and having a lot faith, Happy 42th birthday!

I was reading your post and thought "Man, when I was 42 yrs old I hadn't even taken one single pain pill yet!! Much less started on the "pain path" that led me to the stupid things." "She's really in a great place"!
You have so many more youthful yrs (that's a perception, of course, that 25 yr olds DO NOT have, LOL!) ahead of you and have already been down that road and committed to battle the dragon!!
I sincerely believe God's timing is perfect....(don't see it for awhile..... sometimes a long while....but hindsight really is 20/20! .So guess my health issues that led me down my road to becoming addicted were suppose to happen when they did... at the age they did......but the ole'selfish brain was STILL thinkin.....oh to be 42 again....ahhhh!!!!

Happy birthday and CONGRATS ON YOUR 96 DAYS !! :) celebrating clean birthdays is new for us and yeah, i always feel so proud on Christmas now... My memories were of being always "out" of the celebrations, worried about getting my next pills and so... Anyway, Congrats again !!!
